What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

It's the only one of the nominated documentaries I've seen so I have no opinion one way or the other. Which do you think was more deserving?

over the weekend I also watched an old Tarantino movie I'd never seen before, True Romance - it was great!

FYI, Tarantino didn't direct it though.

But any movie that can include Bronson Pinchot and Michael Rappaport (amongst others of course) hitting it out of the park are doing something right. Great, great movie.

My main issue is that it feels incomplete (since the story isn't really over yet) and they really gave short shrift to some valid policy disputes (i.e. what percentage payout AIG should have given to IBs on their policies) in favor of treating the decision like total corruption.

I also really dislike it when documentarians show bits like interview subjects saying things like "three more minutes then I have to go" or pointing out that they voluntarily showed up and it's not a deposition where the documentarian has an absolute right to their personal financial information and its relevance to the documentary subject. Those are frankly significantly more prejudicial than relevant to the film.

As to what was better, I would submit the following:

45365: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/45365 (eligible for 2010 due to the screening requirements)

Art of the Steal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Art_of_the_Steal_(film) (same)

Client 9; Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Client_9:_The_Rise_and_Fall_of_Eliot_Spitzer

Exit Through the Gift Shop: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exit_Through_the_Gift_Shop

Winnebago Man: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winnebago_Man

True Romance is great but it's only a partial Tarantino. He wrote but did not direct. That puts it in the "Natural Born Killers" family rather than the "Pulp Fiction" family.

For whatever reason, I went to see

battle_los_angeles_movie-poster.jpg

and they should just change the name to: Underbudgeted, Typical Alien Invasion Movie.

Pulp Fiction was severely over-rated.

By the way, did anyone else like District 9? I did.

The Art of the Steal is about the huge art collection of the dude who died just outside of Philly, right? I want to see that so badly. The trailer alone infuriated me. Absolutely despicable.

Sorry Log. Please GTFO.

I happen to agree with Log on this one. It was mildly entertaining. I walked out of the theater very disappointed after all the hype trying to figure out what the hub bub was all about. I'll typically go back and re-watch a film from time to time if I didn't like it the first time just to see if I missed something, especially if it is highly hyped... I have no desire to ever watch Pulp Fiction again. Once was more than enough.

This.

I mean I suppose male on male rape might be your thing, but it just didn't do it for me. Tarantino has gone as far as he can for riding nothing but shock value and hokey dialogue and needs to work on the story more, like in Reservoir Dogs, imo his best film.

You are dead to me.

That's the one. Crazy story.

It's on Netflix Watch Instantly.

I saw Paul and Battle LA this past week. I surprisingly enjoyed Battle LA more, but neither is anything I would recommend to friends. Meh.

whatever...

I still enjoyed it.

as far as the documentaries go, I'm waiting to get Wasteland. My neighbor's niece had some small role in its production.

i enjoyed it much so i re-watched the first Tron made in 1982..28 years apart .man times have changed ahaha. i wonder what the 90's tron would have looked like.

For reasons I have yet to figure out, I DVR'd Paul Blart Mall Cop a month or so ago. I was bored yesterday afternoon, so I watched it.

It was exactly what I expected it to be.

It's gonna be a while before I forgive myself.

Aww but the guy is so lovable and he drives a sweet segway. And he is fat and uncoordinated and not very attractive and not articulate and not very smart and lucks into a way to beat the highly prepared bad guys armed with heavy gunnery, but he gets the hot chick since the pen guy turns out to be a *****, which was a total shock to everyone. The twists and turns in this one were amazing.
