The boxscore was very misleading for this game. The Jazz played great offense despite the score. Hood opened the game missing three wide open shots, and that's how the game went. The shot quality was very good, but they just weren't able to convert. We missed countless layups and didn't hit an open three until Lyles got hot in the second half.
Defensively they were not good. Lillard torched us, but I wouldn't attribute that to individual defense. We blew 3-4 switches in the second quarter and he made us pay. McCollum also got a bunch of good looks off a bad rotations, but he wasn't making his open looks. The perimeter defense was helping way too much and not recovering.
I saw Neto getting a little grief in this thread, but he deserves a pat on the back. He was playing tremendous defense in the 4th and brought a ton of energy to the team. I don't know what his boxscore line looked like, but he was pivotal to the mini run we made late in the game. He and Ingles played with a lot of character tonight. Not so much from the rest of the team, which is fine because they should be resting.
The other bright spot has to be the Diaw-Gobert connection. Every time Diaw gets the ball it seems like something good happens. Rudy was terrific on both ends tonight.
