You can bet I've had my eyes on this guy, lol. He's been consolidating power, has eclipsed National Security advisor Flynn, who is now very much on the outs, as well as Trump's son-in-law. He's the power behind the throne now, and that is not likely to change. I'll post a few links.
He appeared via Skype at a Vatican conference in 2014, and this is a good look at his ideas. He is a brilliant man, I have to give him that. I posted this in one of the other threads, after he was appointed to the Principals Committee of the NSC. You don't have to read this; there is both a link to a Youtube video of his comments, as well as an audio link at the bottom of the page:

Yesterday, it was reported that Bannon needed Senate confirmation to serve on the NSC, giving Trump opponents and those who fear this guy hope. But that is not the case. Technically, he is only an invitee to the NSC, and Senate approval is not required to sit on the Principals Committee:

And, as noted, Bannon is consolidating his power:

All this has led some to refer to him as President Bannon. Well, of course that's an exaggeration, but he's the man that has the boss's ear for sure, and he and Steve Miller were the authors of the immigration executive order.
And finally, I posted this some time ago in one of the election threads I think, when it first became apparent to me that Bannon needed to be watched very closely. It describes a theory of history that he subscribes to. These ideas are obviously also reflected in the comments he made at the Vatican conference in 2014. I'm not suggesting he is wrong to see a Great War developing between Islam and the West, but the fact that he seems to have a "bring it on" attitude is likely the reason behind the chaotic launch of the immigration ban. And the reason Christians are favored once refugee immigration resumes from Syria. People say that ban will aid in recruitment by ISIS. Well, I would suggest Bannon and ISIS are actually on the same page in that respect. They both want this greater war, IMHO. And maybe that is where we are heading. And it is certainly one of the chief reasons folks on the Left are extremely worried about Steve Bannon:
