What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

Do you guys know much about Frank Ntilikina? What's his appeal?

I've come to the conclusion that I've been incorrectly listing his position in my mocks. He's infact a pure combo guard and in my next mock thats what his position will change to.

It's been said (by me and many others) that he's a floor-general, and he can function in that capacity, his 3pt shot has progressed to the point where he might have much more of a Kentavious Caldwell-Pope element to his game than people are giving him credit for.

Sorry did you think he was a PG or an SG before? DX has him as a PG though right?

a PG that was big enough to defend the wing, thats what he plays in those fiba youth tournaments where he got tons of exposure. so it's kinda easy to see how the misconception came to pass, it's also because his shots improved.

He's alot like Spencer Dinwiddie positionally.. or PJ Dozier..

Doesn't Vick have some other concerns beyond basketball stuff that may have some people lowering their ranking of him? Not sure if I'm remembering correctly

yah there's been a long list of incidents at kansas this year and he's been involved with at least 2.

people are quick to cast the label of immature as it makes them feel more mature.. I think if he really lands somewhere in the NBA with solid mentors it could be a great match, he's really an awesome athlete, there's no way he's a 4-year player...

I think he's a better version of Archie Goodwin.

What do you guys think of Dillon Brooks NBA chances? tough, athletic, can shoot the three - a little crazy. i'd be tempted to take him late first or second round. could have a Hood-like impact as a late first guy. like Hood, doesn't do much other than shoot/score, but he's really good at that. TS at 61% right now.

Also, John Collins is a machine.

Whenever I have watched Brooks he has sucked ,so I think he sucks.

Ogbeide's winning the battle of the boards vs Bam..

This has been a poor showing from Fox. 10 minutes to go tho and he just caused a deflection that lead to an oreb/putback.

Mulder's been $$$. Wish he got more burn.

De'Aaron Fox just played pretty much the best post defense I've ever seen from a Fr. guard on a post player just now. Amazing sequence.

He got his hands on Frazier's dribble the next defensive possession. even though he's been dreadful with the shot I don't think he lets them lose this game.

And thats what happened... Had 2 pts when I posted this with 8 minutes to go. Now he's got 16 witth 9 seconds left and the refs missed a few calls on him,and he left the front end of a 1-and-1 on the floor too..

Ball with 11, 8 and 8 with 4m to play.

@StanfordSteve82
Lavar Ball calling out Steph Curry right now on PAC 12 Network. "Put my kid on the W's and put Steph on ucla and see what happens." Huh?

:D

Ball had a much better game than the last USC matchup still only registered a 2:1 ast ratio.

De'Anthony Melton had 4 steals. Boatwright was USC's best player in this 20-10

i like that Markkanen dropped 26 on UW without making a 3.

Yeah he was instructed to attack and thats what he's been doing. One of the pull ups he did in this game was too crazy. Stopped on a dime and then took a contested fade-away and drilled it..

Chance Comanche, who Walton called Chief Comanche the entire game, was instrumental in the victory 13pts 7 rebs 2blks.

Howz about this stat; I swear he's better than Jawun Evans, who's much more highly regarded when it comes to the 2017 draft..

Seton Hall is no pushover either...

Tony Bennett's rotations are something I've been complaining about all year. Yesterdays embarrassment vs UNC was more of just an awful, anomalous game for them collectively (27% from the field and 10% from 3)..

I want to complain about 2 other things that irk me when watching UVA this year, I swear these are legit complaints too;

- Perrantes has been granted too much leeway, he's not a true PG so when he's off there's a severe lack of rhythm which permeates the entire offense. This was glaringly obvious in yesterdays matchup. Guy and Jerome didn't make a shot in this either tho, their minutes get squeezed they should get 20 a piece, not in the teens..

-Redshirting Jay Huff was silly. That dude is an NBA prospect and one of my favorite 4-stars in the class of 2016. He's like 6'11" can shoot and he can also dunk from the FT line.. Very nice skillset.. Every team in college could've used this kid, yet he's redshirting.. clearly is not a 4-year player by any stretch of the imagination..

He could work his way into the 1st rd next year as a RS Fr. sorta like Justin Patton..
for a 4-star recruit he's got very high upside..

If he's 6'11" they shouldn't have RS'd him. They have nothing inside. That was just sad to watch.

He might actually be taller.. He could be still growing, I've seen people call call him a 7-footer.. When I first posted about Huff here I said I thought he was UVA's best recruit and he was ranked in the 70's, and yall know I'm actually quite high on three of their other Fr. Guy, Jerome and Diakate.

He has a good first step and a good jumpshot and as I said before he can dunk from the FT line...

They toiled back and forth on his RS into the season too. Bad, bad move, I guess they're trying to create a Justin Patton type of RS. situation.

Put up or Shut up season is pretty much upon us, games are numbered... There's several fringe prospects that will benefit greatly from a strong close to the season, several of them will underperform and have to wait til next year.

Maryland - Wisconsin should be a nice showcase for a few of these players. this is the game to watch in 30minutes..

Maryland's Justin Jackson is one of those fringe players that could benefit greatly from a thunderous close.

Nigel Hayes and Ethan Happ are certainly in that same boat too (further back in the late 2nd rd fringe)

Cole Huff (unrelated to the aforementioned Jay Huff)a 6'8" Senior F on Creighton might be a legit sleeper. DX has him at 35 in their Sr rankings thats definitely way too low. I'd like to see him on my teams d-league roster. He's playing thru some knee issues too.

Turns 23 next month. He's shooting 48% from 3 on 4 attempts per game and 85% from the stripe
