Per Ian Begley, the Jazz have expressed interest in Lou Williams. Lakers looking for 1st-rd pick.

Ian Begley (ESPN):

Some members of the Utah Jazz front office have expressed interest recently in Lakers guard Lou Williams, ESPN sources say. Many around the league believe Williams is likely to be dealt before Thursday's trade deadline. Some teams who have talked to the Lakers about Williams believe Los Angeles is seeking a first-round pick in any Williams swap.

Should just be called a rumor at this stage.

Locke did tweet out something that made me think. Jazz could just consider JJ a full-time 4 for the playoffs, meaning we could pursue more wing help. Idk why I really havent thought about it like that.

Not bad. He can get points in a hurry. His D sucks, but he's a good, efficient scorer.

The thought of Lou Williams in Utah is the lulz tho. From having Drake write a song about you to playing in Utah.

The other team rumored to want Lou is Washington. Pretty sure they have what would likely be the higher 1st round pick, if they are willing to part with that.

Zach Lowe on Lou Williams:
Several reports have linked the Wiz to Lou Williams, and Washington has indeed explored trading a protected first-round pick for the king of the 2-for-1. That makes me a little queasy, despite Williams' monster season and an affordable $7 million contract that runs through 2017-18 -- big for a capped-out team with limited means to boost the roster in free agency.

Williams' game doesn't hold up as well in the playoffs, when referees don't buy his flailing and opponents pick at his defense over and over. He doesn't move the needle enough toward Cleveland territory to justify sending out a precious chance at nabbing a cheap young player. Washington could also use the midlevel exception -- a real tool again! -- to land a decent backup this summer, though that might rocket them into the luxury tax once they re-sign Porter.

Wait out the Lakers, and Washington might be able to get Williams for a couple of second-rounders.

Also, Lou Williams is famous for having two girlfriends. The multiple wife Mormon jokes will be fun.

Can JJ guard the 4 consistently though? I haven't seen it yet, have you?

Not related, but if I were the Jazz I might see if the Pacers would offer Myles Turner, a pick and some salary in a deal for Derrick Favors.

Turner could be an ideal backup big for Gobert and play a bit along with him.

Dude, dear lord. You cant honestly type that with a straight face. That would be an insulting, laughable offer and would ruin DL's credibility if he even proposed that.

Our best lineups are with him at the 4, so he has been doing fine in the minutes we have played it. It's not a starting lineup you would use, but it's something you would want to milk in the playoffs.

Please tell me you're not serious? I think the Pacers might sue you for even making that post.

Turner to the Pacers is Gobert to the Jazz. He's pretty much untouchable.

IDK, I'm fairly split on Lou Will.

On one hand he would offer a new skill-set that we dont have.

On the other hand he is an awful defender, like one of the worst in the NBA.

Just would be curious to see what would happen to Burks, hard to see him getting many minutes, if any at all, with Lou in the rotation.
