Jazz inquiring about Lou Williams (ESPN)

Is that what you took from it? When I saw that, I thought more along the lines of Lou Will asking to be dealt to Houston instead of Utah.

You may be right but I don't think the agent would be dealing with teams involved in the trade, unless it was due to the teams wanting to get an extension.

So, it looks like the Jazz are looking for offense to fill an obvious concern. Lou doesn't really play any defense.

I think they are looking for someone who can create and handle the ball. Might be some concern for Hill's health going into the 2nd half of the season.

I would love to have DWill back. I have booed him relentlessly every time he comes to Utah but I love his game and he would be a NICE add.

Rockets/Warriors playoff series is going to be fun.

I guarantee you that the Rockets will not make the conference finals. Harden always gets exposed in the playoffs. The Rockets do not have the defense the Warriors have to make up for the fact that that style of play does not translate to the playoffs. Just look at all of Dantoni's pre-Finals flameouts.

No, just compare the players as they are now cause that is all that really matters. No cherry picking here. You don't need to do anything though since I already did it for you.
How they played last year or the year before or the year before doesn't matter does it? How does something a guy did years ago help us for our game on friday?

Ah, Nah.

I'd like to say you are clueless after reading some of your comments on Hayward v Lou Williams but I wont, we obviously just view basketball differently.

For instance;

You think its valid to just multiply out his current minutes/numbers to get stats per 36 minutes. I don't.

You think that being a gunslinger with the ultimate green light on a terrible team is comparable to playing in a team that is trying to build for a shot at finals where you need to play BOTH WAYS and within a structure. I don't.

You think that coming off 2 years of injury is irrelevant. I don't.

You compared Lou Williams year to Hayward's for pete's sake... I don't even know what to say...

Bottom line. Lou Williams is a great offensive talent but he isn't getting us any closer to the promised land. If we are making any moves we need to make POWER moves.

So, Lou ended up in Houston... Great fit! I hope Trey Burkes finds his way there one day, I think he could play well in their system.

Then you're wrong. It's the only valid way to compare players' production - to compare apples to apples. And not just when comparing one player to another, but to track a player's progression through his career, where his role and minutes fluctuate.

And you think what a guy did 7 years ago is relevant when acquiring a player. And only career field goal, three point and free throw percentages matter. I would say you are clueless but I won't.

Also, I don't know if you remember my post from a ways back when I asked you where you got your stats from and what stats you were using but you never answered.
It was weird how you seemed to be using career numbers except the numbers you posted for Lou were all lower than his actual numbers (only slightly but still) and the numbers you posted for alec were higher than his actual numbers.
I like to say you were lying about those numbers in order to make yourself look more correct but I won't.

Btw, in your original post i quoted when I told you to compare the stats and get back to me you said "Not sure how much more he (lou) can offer us compared to what AB already does."
You used the word does instead of did or will do. In other words you used the present tense as in right now, or currently.

So if you want to know what a player can offer a team right now then you should look at only the most recent production of the player. Currently (as in this year) lou is playing better than burks and has more to offer the jazz right now. Sure part of that is because of burks recent injuries but that doesn't change anything. We can't erase those injuries nor act like they never happened.

Anywho, I later changed my mind about wanting Lou when I decided I would rather watch burks (my favorite player) and X get minutes instead even though I think lou would help the jazz win more right now than burks or X.

a) I'm not going to trade every play away that gets injured or is coming back from injury. Terrible way to treat players and run an organization. So Blake Griffin is dirt? Avery Bradley dirt? and I guess Jabari and Zach will be dirt next year?

b) I'm not a stats guy, You told me to look them up so I did (you are literally arguing with yourself on this). I used Wikipedia, I didn't make them up lol.

c) "Right now". So short sighted.

d) You still compared Lou to GORDON HAYWARD. sort yourself out bloke.

It may be valid for you but its not for me. It doesn't take into account fatigue, travel, game situation or and a million other intangibles.

A. Who said to trade every player when they get hurt? Don't make stuff up. I didn't even suggest trading burks lol. Just said the jazz should get lou (I later changed my mind) cause he is playing better than anybody on the jazz bench right now. Including burks.

B. So you posted the wrong stats and irrelevant ones. I accept your apology.

C. Right now was coming from your post not mine. When you said that lou doesn't add anything more than burks does.... as in right now. If you would have said lou doesn't add more than burks in the future then we wouldn't be having this conversation since the future is all just hypothetical opinions. But you didn't. You spoke in the present tense. Presently lou is playing better basketball than burks. That is fact, not opinion.

D. You might not have read my posts in that Hayward/lou discussion where I said hayward is the better player and even said sorry for even making the comparison. No reason to even bring that up in our current discussion. I would call you kind of petty for that, but I won't.

Lol at people trying to marginalize the talents of Lou in this thread. Dude's been in the league for a very long time, he's one of the best at what he does... there's a reason the playoff teams wanted him..

He makes Houston much more dangerous, he and Eric Gordon both average near 20ppg and they're gonna be coming off the bench. #1 and #2 in the league in bench scoring...

So Houston can score. That's nothing new...
