It got competitive for the last few minutes, not the whole game because of some egos. Nobody cared as usual most of the game. Most all-star games have a few moments of some 1v1 mini battles for a couple plays and things get tighter in the last couple minutes if its close. But its never like game 7 and that 2001 game was no where near a regular season game let along a playoff game. Players are putting effort in but not like the playoffs. The are not doing that much off the ball.
Personally I care more about my team winning the regular season than what they do or if they win an all-star game. I understand some people feel differently, especially if your team isnt going to make the playoffs. I just like to see them have some fun and goof off, give a few highlight dunks, alley oops, trick passes and other stuff. I see no disgrace in not trying to win a game that is not supposed to be competitive but fun and an honor. BB is just a game in the end, so why not have some fun when being honored at the all-star event.
I think it is silly to expect your teams all-star to bust his *** and wear himself out, risk injury and not have fun/relax at a fun event like the all-star event. Hopefully Hayward did some recruiting and made some friends in the league. I hope he relaxed, healed up, rested up and is ready to re focus on the rest of the season which is fairly grueling.
