Purple & Blues - Utah Jazz at Oklahoma City Thunder: Keys to the Game

Hayward used up all of his clutch shots quota for the week in Washington...he didnt play like an all-star tonight in he 4th.

In that situation I'm just throwin the ball to Gobert at the 3pt line. No one is going to expect it, you might get lucky if he is able to get it off.
I actually wondered if they shouldn't have tried that. See if you can draw two defenders to Hayward, Hood or Hill and then have Gobert let it fly.

I mean, I wouldn't draw the play up for that, but if no one else is able to get open on the routes, have that be a last ditch resort if Adams has gone off him.

It was Joe vs Taj

And yeah, it did kind of suck because we basically got the same look after the timeout, only with Joe in the deep corner with a taller defender on him.

even worse, he hit a step back on Taj like 3 minutes earlier.

Westbrook hit his three and Hayward missed his. **** happens. We should have never been in that game to begin with.

I'm a little surprised that they didn't have Diaw inbound with JJ, Hood, Hill and Hayward all on the floor after the Thunder called that 2nd timeout. Come back with something totally different.

I think the play was to have Hayward inbound to Gobert and then have him immediately hand it back to Gordon. When they took Rudy out of the play I think Hayward just went to who was immediately open, but it was JJ stuck in the corner.

I'd love to see what genius play someone could draw up down 3, 1 second left, when all 5 defenders are beyond the 3-point line.

We could start by at least getting the ball near the 3 pt line.

I know they didnt NEED a 3, but its pretty obvious it'd be the only shot they could get in 0.9 secs

Terrible defense, and the entire make-up of the defense changes down 2 instead of 3. That play doesn't compare to tonight's scenario

Why Ingles was not on the court in the last possession when we needed a three?

Because Ingles release is SLOW. Even if he'd caught it clean and with space I'm not sure he could have gotten it off. The sequence to focus on was the one before that was the JJ turnover. They lost the game on that possession.

Sure. I get it, not the same scenario. but we get pretty damn easy to defend when we have almost no action, and hayward has to pop out to half court to catch the ball. We've struggled in late game play action most of the year, it is no secret.
