2016-17 Hype Train Playoff Chase!!!

Precisely. I was a big fan early on, we haven't seen PG-play like that since....2011?

The oft-injuries and the max request have turned me slightly against wanting him in the long-term. I now prefer Jrue in free agency.

Also, I said he was a stopgap while we evaluated the "long term potential of Dante"-- ie if Dante was killing it this season, George would be gone. Fairly easy to understand this.

There are three 'fairly easy to understand' things:
1. Because of the positional flexibility of both Hill and Dante, the acquisition of Hill signaled NOTHING about the long-term commitment the jazz had for either player.
2. Hill doesn't have a significant injury history; most of what you see this year has either been freak or related to a turf toe injury that won't fully heal until the offseason allows the appropriate recovery schedule.
3. You've been whiffing on PG-related discussions for something like 5 years running.

George Hill is a glass cannon who has never played in 82 games over the course of a season. And he's only getting older.

It's cute that u think I give a **** about what you think of my opinions.

Jrue won't be cheaper than Hill. He also won't ever come to Utah. Complete non starter.

evidence for either claim?

lol

I think the Jazz finish exactly at 50 wins.

Clippers remaining schedule:
Dallas
@San Antonio
Houston
Sacramento

Dallas and Sacramento should be automatic wins. Need both SA and Houston to win. Clippers will then end the season at 49-33 and the Jazz get homecourt. The Spurs could actually **** us by resting their players against the Clips and taking an L. If that happens, we might as well forget about homecourt.

I wouldn't call Dallas an automatic L. They have already beaten the Clippers. They play tough. But yeah Utah needs them to drop a couple.

The history of the league, and this franchise in particular.

If he's on the Jazz next year I'll leave forever.

Hill age 30: 16.9/4.1/3.5

Holiday age 26: 15.6/7.2/4

You think Holiday can be had for less money?

Background: Dal has Holiday on his fantasy team. Legit the only reason he wants him on the Jazz.

Or the fact he's a good youngish player who plays hard on both ends. I'd much rather pay Holiday big money than 31 year old Hill.

It doesn't matter if we want him or not. If the Pelicans let him go (doubtful) then he'll have offers coming from everywhere. He's not coming here.

What nonsense. Given that logic, no player will ever come to Utah, so why even talk about any of them?

If you can give an example of a young player getting max offers from elsewhere choosing to come to Utah for equal pay, then I'll shut up.

Hey, at least we'd get a new "is Holiday <insert religious figure>?" thread. Those are always good.

Agreed. I'd be making churro threads for him rn.

At any rate, hyping draftees is fun and I loved my Burkefest. NAOS stays ho-hum when it comes to talking about Stanley Johnson tho. He's sure..er..having a season. As is the very balanced Trey Lyles who "you just have to see in person" in order to understand his prospects.

wasn't a max offer, but Utah sniped Boozer ahead of several teams when the Cavs let him hit free agency.
