Gobert update thread

I had a buddy who got his hair cut at the thing yesterday. Apparently the barber who had people with the jazz telling him said that Rudy is pretty sore. He should be out 3 weeks minimum and he's already asked if they would let him play. The trainers are holding him back.

I am not sure if Gobert will be back as good as before. But if he comes back 50% and Griffin's injury is more serious than we think, we might turn this around. Other than that i dont really see us beating LA. Not because they are too good, but we lack the killer instinct that would close out the games at this level. As good as Hayward is, he is not a superstar, lets take it.

Blake Griffin is out for the remainder of the playoffs. Clips just announced it.

Do we risk Gobert's future to win this series?

CP3 is the problem. If we can stop him, we can win the series. He's the best player out there. Still, IMO, the best PG in the game. After Stockton, the best pure PG the game has ever seen. Curry does not have the overall game and Westbrook is just a one-on-one player who accumulates stats and not deserving of MVP IMO.

How about a hard foul on CP3. Knock his *** down a couple of times in the paint and he'll think twice. This team needs an enforcer (I recognize Rudy protects the paint, but we could use more toughness). Setting that aside, last night was a glaring reminder that the Jazz should have drafted CP3. How idiotic to draft Deron over him.

That is the problem with this roster. We do not have an enforcer. Who's gonna do it? Favs? Diaw? Joe? Lyles?

Forza Milan!:D

We've really missed Trevor Booker. He'd be making a good impact in this series.
I thought he wouldn't play much if we kept him but I really liked him and was sad to see him leave. Who knew Lyle's would regress that much. I think it was safe to assume he would be as good or improved from last year.

Well, the jazz are below the salary floor, and were unable to get deals done with that space, so.... maybe what what the FO was assuming was full of lots of ****ty things?

Lyles has regressed? Or just hasn't played much?

Maybe or maybe they were holding that cap space for bigger deals that didnt happen. Or more likely they were not wanting long term contracts to interfere with signing our players that are due for re-signing this off season. Hayward, Hill and Inlges need to be re-signed.

Did you predict Lyles would regress as much as he did? I did not see anyone here posting about expecting Lyles to get worse and be unplayable towards the end of the season.

They didn't use that cap space. They obviously misjudged the market; swung and missed. Why don't you think that's a totally fair thing to critique them on? I can't figure out why this appears to be so confusing to you (and others).

Lyles has slid super far. But I've seen Sophomores who didn't prove much in college do this before. If I were building a roster for playoff success, then I wouldn't put many eggs in that kind of basket, particularly IF I WAS BELOW THE ****ING SALARY FLOOR.
