I think Hayward signs with the jazz cause $$$
dont underestimate gobert! if goldenstate loses 1 of their big4. gobert will beat them! he got his taste of playoff basketball!
I want to say Im 50% certain Favors is traded during or before the draft.
For what? His trade value would be 25 cents on the dollar. Meanwhile, his value to us simply playing is at least 75 cents on the dollar.
His value to us is a year left on his contract. If he plays great we cant afford him and if he sucks, he probably still leaves because he know his role would be 15 mpg backing up Rudy Gobert. Either way I'm almost certain Favors sees the writing on the wall of just being Gobert's glorified backup and is out of here. I dont think he dislikes Utah, but I think he dislikes his role.
I heard a Jazz media guy throw this trade out: Favors for Demarre Carroll and the 23rd pick (I think that deal saves Toronto a ton of money because of their cap situation). When I first heard it, I hated it. I've kind of come around on it though, especially if there is some kind of bigger picture trade that can be done with acquiring more picks.
I think that is probably the gist of every possible trade involving Favors, moving him for a worse contract (more years) and a draft pick.
Who's "a Jazz guy"?
Also, I'd rather roll the dice on another year of Favors than try to accumulate more picks.
IDK, just some Jazz media person on twitter. Can't remember who. It's not a rumor, just something he was suggesting as a possibility because of Toronto's cap concerns and Carroll's familiarity with Jazz/Snyder.
The thing is that "roll the dice" is only good for 1 more year. 0% chance we can retain him past this year. He just isnt going to re-sign with us, no matter what. Quin has shown very little willingness to roll with Gobert/Favors, even two years ago when Favors was good and healthy, he would still take Gobert/Booker or Favors/Booker over Gobert/Favors most of the time.
We're a 60+ win team next year with no changes. I'd stick with that and then sort things out in the summer of 2018. Breaking 60 wins and a good playoff showing puts us in another realm that opens doors for bringing in other key people, regardless of whether or not we lose some people.
Regarding Snyder not being open to a Gobert/Favors combo, I think the jury is out on that. They played together enough after Kanter was traded and we went on that run. The next year both of them missed 20 games each. This year Favors was never healthy. And we don't have a legitimate backup center that can play minutes so a hobbled Favors got penciled in there. Next season they play together which I believe is what makes us unique.
The 23rd pick is a better trade asset than Derrick Favors atm.
Carroll's provided value could be equivalent to Favors this year.
Oh ok. That's all it takes to get guys huh? Just mention mention names?
I would get lebron, steph, kahwi, and AD.
That was easy. Now we win all the championships!
You said get some stars and named them. That's not what I posted at all. I don't even think you read my posts.

whats the point of winning 60 plus games when you can t compete to get out of round 2?
and lets be honest here had the Clippers been healthy they would of won in 6 games max.
Also doesn't matter what the Jazz do on the court, they are never going be a free agent destination. The league is mostly black and lets be honest with ourselves, not many nba players want to live in Utah. This has been discussed so many times I dotn know why people stil lthink Utah can get a big name free agent. Biggest name free agent singing the Jazz have ever had is Boozer and how good was Boozer? He was decent but he was soft and played matador defense. For the Jazz to compete in the NBA they need to draft players and sign players with local ties who don't mind living with amongst all the Mormons. Go Ahead and hate on my post all you want but its 100 percent truth#RealTalk
