Following potential 2017 draftees...

One scrimmage doesn't prove much other than that Kuzma had a good day shooting the ball. Oliver is still going to get drafted higher. Kuzma might be there at #42 though (assuming my guy Bolden is off the board).

Did you watch it? Kuzma did a lot more than just shoot it well.

But you are right, one scrimmage proves nothing. I had Kuzma ahead of him though pre-scrimmage so in my mind it just confirmed it further.

No, I'm trying to find it online, but it's not posted anywhere.

He just looked spectacular offensively. In transition handling the ball and making the right decision, cutting when the defense was ball watching, rose up for a 3 and passed out mid-shot to a cutter for an easy dunk, pull-up jump shots off close outs, and even hit a Kareem-esque skyhook. He even had a closeout on Ojeleye and stuck with him on the drive the entire way to block his shot (he might not have gotten credit for it though, the help D might have blocked it, but he was step for step the whole way and stood him up). And he also drained wet 3 after wet 3, from the corner and from 5 feet behind the 3pt line.

He basically displayed everything Jazz fans hoped Trey Lyles would develop into this year.

KYLE KUZMA, JUNIOR, POWER FORWARD, UTAH

20 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 4-5 2P, 4-5 3P, 20 minutes

The 6' 9.5 Kuzma proved to be one of the most offensively talented prospects to play 5-on-5, as he showed how projectable his game is when he's knocking down shots with consistency (something he struggled with at times at Utah). Sporting a quick release with sound mechanics, Kuzma made four spot threes, knocked down a one-dribble pull up and looked really comfortable attacking off the bounce and finding teammates on the move. The Flint, Michigan native, who already decided to forego his senior season and sign with an agent, still needs to get make strides defensively, but he certainly helped his stock with his game-one performance and, if he can shoot it well enough in workouts, could hear his name called in the first half of the second round (or even potentially late first) pending his remaining workouts and interviews. - Source: https://www.draftexpress.com/article/nba-combine-competitive-action-recap-day-one-5928/ ©DraftExpress

FRANK JACKSON, FRESHMAN, POINT GUARD/SHOOTING GUARD, DUKE

13 points, 4 assists, 1 steal, 6-10 2P, 0-2 3P, 20 minutes

Jackson, who has yet to decide whether he'll sign with an agent, was able to get to the rim at will by way of his powerful explosiveness and strength (202 pounds) while sitting down in a stance and competing on the defensive end. Playing mostly on the ball, Jackson is an aggressive score-first combo guard who should be able to fill it up at all three levels with NBA spacing (even though he missed both of his triples on Thursday). Jackson's decision making, point guard skills and ability to shift gears could still use some polish, but he helped himself on Thursday and has the talent to potentially be on the fringe of the first round if he decides to stay in the draft. - Source: https://www.draftexpress.com/article/nba-combine-competitive-action-recap-day-one-5928/ ©DraftExpress

How did Semi look?

Thanks for the link. I really liked Bell too, but I didnt realize his stat line was that good.

Bell is showing he can be that energy player off the bench. But again, this is a scrimmage against random guys who are mostly 2nd round picks. I'm not sure it's even Summer League.

You could argue it's more talent on the court at once than the average SL team since a lot of those teams fill out their roster with guys who have 0 shot at making a roster (but obviously lacks the high end talent that can be on the court in a SL game).

It's a no-brainer. Yes.

You got me on the Frank Jackson hype train a couple months ago. Every draft there's a prospect or two I fall in love with after watching like 10 minutes of video and Jackson is the prospect for me this year. Last year it was Luwawu, Murray, and to a lesser extent Skal. 2015 it was Myles Turner and Hezonja (I still have real estate on Hezonja Island. I still believe in him, dammit!)
