Following potential 2017 draftees...

If a GM is given a mandate to make the playoffs or get fired, they might be willing to take a chance on Favors (if he has medical clearance). There aren't a ton of bigs with his potential attainable on the market at low cost. It still may not yield a lottery pick though. A year ago, Favors could have netted a pick safely in the top 10.

Depends on what his medical report says. Is he done, is he going to recover, or is he going to recover 75%? When Favors says he's 100% in his exit interview it sounds like he's asserting that he's not done.

Man, in that same interview Favors said he came back and was 55% while playing in the playoffs. Then he said he was 100% going into the off-season? Cmon man.

Cy who is a better target in your opinion for the jazz to move up?

The reason I choose Charlotte because their needs can't be met at 11. The need a big banger down low who can score. The need depth on the wing. They need depth at pg.

Mitchell not a good fit but might be a target.

Collins kinda a redundant to zeller, kaminsky and Williams.

Allen not a good fit

Anunoby is a good fit if he can play pf but not a low post scorer.

Justin Jackson is meh

The have an awful contract to dangle to move back.

If the jazz did take miles and gave them 24. (Not sure what else would be involved)

With 24 they could get bam how is a great fit.

Giles maybe.

Dj Wilson is a good fit.

Charlotte could move down pick up assets. Lose a bad contract and still get a good fit at PF.

Favors wouldn't net a 1st round pick straight up.

This is one of those times I REALLY wish you were wrong....

Jazz likely have two former lottery picks each earning about 10 million, and neither could net a 1st rounder back to the Jazz.

Good luck Mr. Lindsey.

If that's the case you don't trade him(I don't think that's the case, I think he should EASILY get you a first round pick unless medical examination reveals he's likely to never be healthy again). He's more valuable as a back up 5 than a second rounder that might or might not even make the team.

In 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 Favors averaged 16 and 8 with around 1.5 blocks. He's only 25. And his contract isn't long or expensive. We could acquire a first round pick for him. Probably a top 15 pick. Hell Marco Belinelli was enough to get a first last year lol.

Yeah but then life hit him hard, specifically in the knees and lower back. That combined with the fact that he is probably a 5 long-term in a league that has a surplus of young and talented 5's.

We should keep him in a contract year. We are all in a position to win here, including Favors. He's hungry and needs and monster year. We can either use his highly motivated play or his expiring contract.

I agree with everything here.

One thing that helps his value is he is extension eligible. A team under the cap could acquire him and give their excess cap space to him now and extend him for 3 more years. They could wait to do so. Outside of BKN and maybe Orlando I'm not sure who might be under the cap and have interest. Philly has too many bigs right now... Maybe Sacramento though WCS & Favs is a bad pair.

that was widely viewed as a terrible trade, so not the right example imo.
