Following potential 2017 draftees...

You guys see Collins as a 4???? I think he's a 5 for sure and I don't think he fits with us at all especially if we added another high priced true center. I like him as a prospect, but if he is at the 4 I think it's because you have a Jokic or Porzingis at the 5.

I think his best position would be 5, but he might be able to play some 4. I like his shooting, but his game feel probably has to improve.

Can he dribble? I just think it isn't ideal for us long term... if he is there at 24 sure... at 11ish we need to do better. That plumlee contract is just terrible for us.

Didn't mean to like.

No way he slips out of lottery. More likely he gets into the top 10 than out of lottery.

I just want the Hornets to draft him... there is something comical about them taking a white PF/C... He is different than the other guys they have, but they certainly have a type.

Ehh, their type has been standout college player. I don't think it has anything to do with race. Collins certainly fits that to an extent because of his NCAA run.

Again I cant see any reason the jazz would talk to him unless they think he could fit next to gobert.

I guess it could be a smoke screen to get teams calling and see what offers are on the table. It could have just been a nice chess move.

My mind is starting to hurt. I think I would rather test wits with a Sicilian when death is on the line then try to figure out DLs draft strategy.

I think the Jazz have trade deals on the table involving Favors that they lined up before the deadline. One of them may potentially involve a pick in the 9 - 12 range, which is where Collins would be expected to get picked. A franchise like Charlotte or Detroit that wants to compete in the Eastern Conference may want to add a ready veteran and may not be excited about drafting in that range.

I doubt the Jazz are going to give up a ton of assets in the draft to move up and take a 4/5 like Collins.

Favor isnt really the ideal "ready" type of player. He is coming off a season of being perpetually injured w/out any clear reason why.

Zach Collins was 10-21 from three this year. Extremely small sample but he did only play 17 mins a game. I think he could develop a nice outside jumper. If you think Favors is a good fit next to Gobert I don't know how you think Collins wouldn't be.

I would trade Favors in a deal that netted Collins.

Depends on what his medical report says. Is he done, is he going to recover, or is he going to recover 75%? When Favors says he's 100% in his exit interview it sounds like he's asserting that he's not done.

If a GM is given a mandate to make the playoffs or get fired, they might be willing to take a chance on Favors (if he has medical clearance). There aren't a ton of bigs with his potential attainable on the market at low cost. It still may not yield a lottery pick though. A year ago, Favors could have netted a pick safely in the top 10.
