They are not the same. Gender is, by definition, a social construct.

People refer to boats as "her." A boat has no sexual identification. That's one of MANY examples. English borrows heavily from languages where every single noun in existence has to have a gender assigned to it.

One can be male and not a boy (a gender). One can be a female and not a woman (a gender).

There is evidence that shows that transgender people have brain matter that compares to the gender they identify as. If gender was a social construct, how is it possible that men and women have different brains that align with their gender identity?


so take that!

So someone who biologically has the genitalia of a male but identifies as a female would have bran matter that correlates to the female identity, at least according to what you posted.

Makes sense.

And shows that even within the realm of biology things can be crossed up.

So take THAT!!

And as far as I understand, in some other cultures they don't have the binary male/female gender roles we have. They have identified a wider array of gender identities than we have traditionally limited ourselves to in the western world.

If that's not pretty good evidence that gender is a social construct I don't know what to say.

What does progression mean as far as culture is concerned?

You seem to imply a quality element with that comment. Culture has no qualitative element when compared simply between the two.

I'm not an expert in this. I believe some south Asian countries like Vietnam and some South American countries have additional gender distinctions. I don't really care to prove this to you. It's something I vaguely recall hearing at some point.

But it doesn't matter either way. Gender roles are separate from sex. You can say it ain't so and make another one of your charming, meaningless, jackass comments about science denial or whatever, with the annoying prick personality you typically bring to these discussions, and I suppose you'll walk away feeling like you won. More power to you.

well if they still live in poophuts! and have an avg life span of 30 years old. it is mostly because of their culture

the christian backed out and fled instead of standing and fight

Islam started it spread worldwide. devouring every other culture and religion going for totalitarianism, world domination! so a time came to stand

a nice example is the peaceful Buddhist country of Maldives, it was totally devoured by islam, every single budhsit moomnument and building leveled to the ground and everybody was forced to convert!

so yeah, a response to the spread of the cancerous Islamism(not the religion but the political system) called for the crusades!

because that is exaclty what is happening when it comes to the crusades!

it was a defensive war to save their religion culture. cultural and religious artifacts from those barbaric islamist!
