Following potential 2017 draftees...

Regarding Portland, whether they're willing to pay the tax or not, they have no flexibility if they're capped out with a mediocre roster. They are reportedly willing to move a pick to dump some salary, though they'd prefer it be one of their later picks.

Edit: here's an article that says as much...

Is Jonathan Jeanne the lazy pick for the Jazz in the first? French, long, Gobert's agent etc.....

I like him but so many mocks have him at 24.

I don't think that's a lazy pick. I think the Jazz would be in for a lot of work to develop him, but the potential is worthwhile probably.

I watch his tape, and his lack of strength and fundamentals hurts him on rebounds and makes me worried, but watching him play defense and move towards the basket with the ball in his hands makes me feel better about the pick. Pretty high upside. Still think the Jazz should be taking as many of those guys as they can and hope they hit on one.

You do realize Blake is better then Rudy don't ya? D
Of course you dont but it's true. And they played still so don't use the excuse of they were healthy. If they was able to play then that's not a valid excuse. Blake didn't play one single game. That's an injury. Jazz are a pretender team. How's it feel knowing the Lakers or Celtics will win another chip before you win your first?

Salt lake city is a city that is never going get a big name free agent. No one wants to live in that weird city where LDS runs pretty much everything. You know LDS that was beyond racist towards blacks and native americans. Black people make up the majority of the league. So how does it feel knowing y'all kicked the Lakers and make fun of them but knowing the will win another chip before you get your first. How does that feel? Jazz are pretenders

The Jazz would have

swept the Clippers with a healthy Rudy in the first three games and a healthy Hayward in game four. Stop.

FIRST PERSON TO EVER GET ON MY IGNORE LIST

The Jazz gave up the 12th pick for a player with 1 year left who was going to be a UFA. Hood is going to be a RFA, so yeah, it's possible.

I think Detroit is very close to making a major step. If Jackson/Drummond play to their potential and KCP makes a step along with Hood, they could get home-court in the East. And SVG is a Coach/GM, he is more prone to dealing picks for ready now players if he feels he has to win right now. They were 44-38 last year and actually played the Cavs fairly close (still lost in 4, but 3 of the games where within 10 points, and two within 5). They heavily underachieved this year, but I could see them being a 50 win team if they get back on track and add a guy like Hood (and he plays well).

I think this is more than a lot of wishful thinking.

Why I argue with this guy....

Game 1 -- Clippers fully healthy, playing at home. Gobert gets injured on the first play of the game. Jazz win Game 1.
Game 4 -- Hayward out with food poisoning, Gobert hobbled and on a minutes restriction. Jazz win Game 4.
Game 5 -- Must-win for Clips, playing at home. Gobert still hobbled. Jazz win Game 5.
Game 7 -- Refs foul out Gobert in 12 minutes of game time with 3 bogus calls. Jazz blow out Clips and win the series.

Everyone healthy? Jazz win in 5 or maybe 6 games. Jazz > Clippers.

Rudy Gobert = All NBA
Blake = not so much

NoColorado = tard

Jazz will probably have to give up Hood + 24 to get up to 11 or 12 in this draft. The price will be high and there's downside. Jazz won't do it unless there's someone they love on the board and they don't feel they want to pay Hood.

The Jazz could stay at 24 and 30 and get two good rotation players with some upside.

Serious question: did you watch the series?
