Don't know about this Jeanne guy but if he's a center why would you pick him #1 to be a backup? We need to get a potential starter.

Still fresh in my mind when Gobert got injured in the playoffs and Jeff Withey wasn't counted on.Jazz can get a Center with huge defensive potential and have rim protection all 48 minutes of the game.Jazz might only be able to keep Favors one more season and salary makes Jazz pass the job onto Lyles. Another top rim protecting Center makes Jazz elite.

I'm in the Jeanne Camp because he isn't gobert. He's much more likely to be a stretch 4 with unprecedented length. As a 4 he won't need to play against such physically dominant players and he has a nice stroke.

I also think he has the highest upside of any player from 24 on. I would really love to get him with #30, but I think the Spurs will take him if the Jazz don't take him earlier.

I agree we need an upgrade at backup C but with the #24 pick it needs to be an upgrade at a starting position. Jeanne is too weak, I expected to see some explosiveness. Leaf is wayyyyyy better.

It terrifies me to see people pick Jeanne. He will be nowhere near good as Gobert.

Everyone thought the same thing about Rudy. Not saying this other guy will be as good, but you don't know how good he could potentially be just yet.

Odds of getting a potential starter at #24 are pretty low. I don't have any opinion about Jeanne myself, but if we get a quality backup big man at #24, that's a steal.

They are totally different players. Jeanne has more of an outside game but is so tall/long that he has been able to be a good shot blocker. I see Jeanne as more of a KP type player (obviously not as highly touted or talented at this point).

I don't think Jeanne is an NBA center. I think he's a 4.

Jeanne shouldn't be getting compared to Rudy. I know it's only natural to do so but I feel like it's leading some people to the wrong conclusions because it's comparing an all nba player against a raw prospect. And if you do that you are going to have a negative view of the prospect because he's not going to measure up.

I'm on the take Jeanne train because of his talents and his potential. He's 7'2 with a 7'6 1/2 wingspan. He blocks shots and rebounds well. He has RARE mobility for his size, he runs the floor like a wing and can guard the perimeter on pick and rolls and on switches. He has the ability to shoot the nba three. Now of course he has flaws, if he didn't he'd be a top 5 pick. He needs to add muscle and get stronger. At 207 pounds he's not likely to be an immediate contributor on an NBA team. And most of his offensive game is raw. But his upside is tremendous. Higher than most in the draft. He'd be well worth the pick at 24.

If the poll was "which of these players doesn't get drafted in the 1st round" Jeanne would have been my vote

He'll get drafted in the first round. I'd be a little surprised if he was even available to us at 24.

The last time Utah drafted, I had a couple guys I liked, and was feeling good about us taking Booker, but really only cared that we didn't take one particular player. Guess who we drafted?

Last year the team did exactly what I wanted them to do, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

Anyway, right now it's too soon for me to make a decision. Drafting at 24, it's a sure bet anybody I choose won't make it that far, so I'm going to wait until I have a better idea of guys who will actually be around at 24. A lot can change in the next few weeks.

I think they'll continue with the trend of long and athletic --- Jeanne, Bam, Ferguson, maybe Ojeleye. They'll be looking for upside. Considering they can get quality player like a Rabb, Swanigan, Kuzma at 30, they can swing for the fence a bit more at 24.

I was in the exact same boat in the Lyles draft... thought he had proved me wrong... then he went the other way last year. Booker, Oubre, Bobby Portis were guys I liked most... would swap Lyles for any of them right now. Turner would have been great but freaking Pacers swooped him up.
