Who is your PG of choice?

who should the jazz acquire?

If I knew we'd use every dollar of "savings" from attaining Patrick Beverley for a big splash at PF, then I'm ready to vote for Bev. He's a better on-ball defender than Hill, and I think he's demonstrated that he can hit the open, catch-and-shoot 3. If we retain Hayward, Ingles, and Hood, then we have plenty of playmaking. And if we brought back Millsap, then we'd have even more. Basically, the idea that Bev allows us to get Love or Millsap without paying a huge tax penalty is extremely enticing.

So the Jazz can just take Rubio straight up, dont even have to trade Diaw, until July 1st, right?

I bet Thibs wouldn't mind that if he knew he could land one of these top PG's in FA. If they move Rubio they have enough room for a max since Pekovic's contract no longer counts against the cap and they can cut Jordan Hill. They could target Lowry, Hill, Holiday, and CP3. It'd be super risky to deal Rubio before July 1st like the Jazz probably desire though without knowing for certain they can get one of those guys. After those top 4 it drops off considerably to Jeff Teague and Derrick Rose.

How many other teams can acquire Rubio without sending back salary like the Jazz? If there isnt any, then the cost probably wouldn't be that high.

*If* the Jazz get Rubio there has to be a somewhat significant change of pace for the Jazz. You can't be the 29th paced in the NBA with Rubio as your starting PG.

Everyone choosing Hill over Bledsoe needs to call an Uber. You're drunk.

Hill is eons better than Bledsoe.

Bledsoe has played half a NBA season or less due to injury 3 times in his 7 year career. And 2 of those have been with Phoenix, who are lauded as having one of the top medical teams in the NBA.

In the past 3 years Bledsoe has played more games than Hill. He's also 3 years younger. Hill's toe is concerning.

Could Utah clear enough cap space for Millsap?
Love is unlikely. Who would Cleveland want back via trade? They're still trying to hold together their team for one last season.

Turf toe is concerning? It's not like a torn ACL or a bad back. Hill needed to shut it down earlier last season and let it heal. But Utah didn't have other options at PG. Mack and Neto are 3rd-stringers. Exum was underwhelming. George rushed back too soon (twice) and never gave it a chance to heal.

If we got Millsap it would have to be in a sign and trade. We dont have enough room to sign him outright unless Hayward and Hill both leave.

Cleveland doesn't want anything from us, but we can facilitate them getting George because Indiana doesn't want Love but I'd assume they'd take Favors + picks + Hood or Exum. Same thing with NY and Carmelo.

I'll bet Boston has offered Indiana Tatum. Getting George (with a commitment to extend for 3 years) AND Hayward as a FA is worth Boston giving him up. Utah can't match that short of giving up Gobert, which would be ridiculous.

Expect Minnesota to go hard for George Hill
Can they even afford Hill? Just traded for a star, and have to sign there young guns at some point. Having 20-25 million a year for Hill could complicate things in a couple years. Tell me if I'm wrong. I'm not an expert on the cap.

At some point the jazz need to try to make good on the high price the jazz made using the 5th pick for Exum. He showed us a glimpse in that last game vs GS, and expect him to dominate summer league. He could come into next season with a lot of confidence. Kobe seemed to work wonders for Hayward, aren't Exum and Kobe fairly close. Maybe Exum could get some one on one time with Kobe.

So how about this...

With Mitchell on board I think Exum is a bit expendable. We could move him now if we felt it got us some value. With that said...

Exum, Favs, Burks, and OKC pick for Bledsoe and Dudley. Dudley plays small ball 4 with starters. Bled brings more creating and can be a good defender when engaged and healthy. Two birds... one stone?

I am not sure Phoenix is going full rebuild based on the rumors, but this would start them down the road.

You ****ing serious??

Forget summer league.

That is a no win situation right there.

Hand him either the starting or back up pg roles next season and give it at least 1/2 a season to evaluate.

What if Houston said berverly/Anderson for Burks ?
They'd could do whatever they want with him, save the cap $ they need for whatever.
We'd get a stretch 4 , who isn't a great defender I know, a PG who can defend who shoot ok as well as addressing 2 of our needs.
Hill can seek his 20 mill per somewhere else

Idk what you're worried about. We got freaking Nigel Williams-Goss, best pg on the roster.

That is a HORRIBLE deal especially after the comments from DL about Exum. I choose other because I still believe Exum can be the guy. I would be ok with Beverly because of the price and his willingness to be a bench player and I like his toughness.

Also, I am still wondering if the Jazz have interest in Milos. I think he would be a very good choice for the price of 6 million. He can also shoot. The Jazz have other options at PG, non conventional both Ingles and Hayward handled the duties too. Jazz offense relies on moment and a ball stopper PG is not what we need.

I think Hill is in for a reality check, the PG market demand is low so he has little leverage for a big payday. I worry about his foot issue and didn't really see too much of his "great" defense. There is no way I give him a big contract which would mean the Jazz would lose Exum and Hood. Lets hope Donovan can play some PG too.

No cap specialist here but does that trade even work $$$ wise. I wouldn't hate that deal but Anderson's deal would be the deal killer for me. I think that is why they are trying to get rid of him.
