Woj: Joe Ingles is finalizing deal to return to the Utah Jazz

I'm unsure about Rubio as compared to Hill. But I am thrilled with how DL is working this offseason. So far so good.

Now the final exam. Jazz need to sign Hayward. So important.

I got my pop corn poppin'

Derrick Favors
Joe Johnson
Donovan Mitchell
Joe Ingles

Jazz have done a good job collecting guys who WANT to be in Utah. That only gets better and better and better. I'm going to guess that DL signs a veteran ring chaser to a minimum contract this year that will surprise a lot of people.

Rubio and Ingles were teammates and lived together while playing for Barcelona as well.

I can't believe the reaction to this deal. You guys sound like we won the lotto. It is an ok contract. I would have preferred 3 years 12 million but I guess being the star player's buddy gets you more money. $52 million for a role player who scores 7 pts. a game seems like overpaying.

I know he shut down JJ Redick (don't get me started on his contract), but he was exposed during the Warrior's series. Welcome back Joe, I hope you earn your contract. I am just not as excited as most Jazz fans are about overpaying for a guys. I think this is overpaying but I guess we will have to wait and see.

The more I watch Ingles play the more I like him. So glad he returned. Looks like my kids will be getting Ingles jerseys for Christmas. Thanks Joe! The fans appreciate you!

Did you watch the series? He played heavy minutes guarding Chris Paul as well.

So.. You'd be okay with $12M a year for 3 years and we got him for $13M for 4 years. Doesn't seem like a big difference to me. We don't know the specifics of the deal yet either.

Dog he locked up Klay Thompson too.

He does need to shoot better in the playoffs, but hopefully he comes back and is ready for that challenge.

Good defender, floor spacer, glue guy. He has value beyond his 7-3-3 in 24 minutes.

4 years $52 million

I was hoping for 10-12 million, but he's worth it. Bought in, great guy, Jazz believer, loyal, selfless, talent (shooting, passing, defense), tenacity on the floor, does not back down, opponent irritant.

Will help with spacing, which will be a concern with Rubio versus Hill.

Hope he is in the room for the Hayward pitch (along with Rudy). I imagine he is a persuasive guy and will remind Gordon of the locker room camaraderie. Will keep environment in the room loose. Gordon re-signs on Tuesday. Book it.

Invite Joe to join Rudy, Quin, Dennis, Gayle, and John Stockton in their meeting with Gordon.
Might as well invite Brad Stevens to the Jazz meeting as well...at this point, if Stevens really cares about what's best for his former player, even he'll acknowledge that returning to the Jazz is the best thing for Hayward.

So how much could Jazz still offer Hill to stay under luxury tax cap

I'm hearing on twitter from various Jazz reporters that Hill era is over (not sure if this is direct Jazz communication or their hunches).

I worry this contract becomes a Allen Crabbe/Leonard type of deal very quickly... At least it seems like he made us a discount after getting some higher offers. I can live with it, especially if it helps retain Hayward in any way.
