I can't imagine why a fake leak would cause Hayward to have to reconsider anything?

The only way that makes sense is if he told someone he trusted in the Celtics organization he was going there but to keep it quiet and next thing you know there's a story on ESPN before he tells the Jazz and makes his blog post. Now he's not sure he can trust this person anymore and that makes him question going to Boston.

Why would you reconsider going somewhere because "I didn't get to tell everyone." That's clearly not the case. I DO believe he told a close group of people what he was going to do but he hasn't finished his blog post on his site thanking the fans and that's about it

I'm going to say this though:

If he HAD decided to sign with the Celtics, why would he inform the world via his agent that he hadn't? I'm not accepting spite or hype as reasons.

Because the process is planned out ahead out of time. He is supposed to inform Utah and Boston FO first, so they need to backtrack and pretend a decision wasn't actually made yet. I'm not saying this is what happened, but it's a plausible scenario. It could have been that he told friends/family and one of them leaked it when they weren't supposed to. At the same time, it could be that he really hasn't made up his mind.

1. He has chosen Celtics but wanted to get the word to teh Jazz first, but some ****boi in his camp leaked it first. Hayward is now in damage control trying to roll everything back so he can talk to Utah formally about his choice. Handling it all very poorly.

2. Hayward really doesnt know yet and hasnt chosen. The leak was a plant from someone just being an ******* trying to cause chaos. Amidst all the hysteria, Hayward is truly undecided and the stress from the leak is getting to him, causing him to want another day to think it through.

3. Hayward has chosen Utah but really enjoys the ****ery. Knowing it will all be right in the end, he allows the ****ery to continue.
