I wouldn't say Davis is more athletic than Barkley. Barkley was a very good athlete. Problem is length. As a fan of a team with Gobert, you should know how much length matters.

Stockton historically struggled with large, athletic guards on defense. Add in hand check rules, and Stock would have a hard time guarding Westbrook. It's not that outlandish to say.

I'm curious what your thoughts on this matchup are (why did you vote for addictionary)?
 
I couldn't decide on who to vote on this one, I thought the last one addictionary was in shouldn't have been that close but this one....I could have voted for either team.

In the end I went with Stockton because I know he can glue any team together and play D. Not positive Westbrook and Hardin are selfless enough to do so and make Shaq happy

If I had the time I'd enter these two teams in that simulation site.

It's a close matchup.

Addy has a bunch of guys that feast on the inside, and you have one good interior defender. He also has two great interior defenders. I think that really hurts an offense. Harden is an elite creator, pairs well with Shaq and AD.

You have a good team, I just like his better.

Harden, westbrook, and AD might be top 25 when it's said and done.

I don't think you should get extra credit simply for drafting dudes that are retired

Lets compare those years then.
Davis scored more points(per 100 possessions 6 more points per game), shot better from the free throw line and got to the free throw line more, Turned the ball over much less, blocked way more shots. Most of all Davis was a far superior athlete and defender all around. He has the ball handling skills to bring the ball up and drive.

Barkely did shoot a better TS% of 1.6% better, he did rebound at a higher rate of 0.9% better.

Its not a head and shoulders gap but I think Davis is better. I also think Davis would bother Barkley a lot matched up and negate a lot of what made him good.

Davis standing much taller and much more athletic would be a nightmare matchup for Barkley.

Davis did a lot of that because his team sucked. Barkley didn't need to shoulder the same load as he had Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle and others to score.
