Mitchell is going to take minutes from other players. It is going to be hard to keep him off the floor

It's clear the kid has it. He is a cut above some people already. He looks like he belongs out there every step of the way. We've got a player for sure, the only question is how good of one?

Wow ,Jazz are 6 deep in guards,Rubio,Hood,Exum,Burks,Mitchell and Neto........attack,attack,attack and run, run, run ...should be Jazz offense and defense

I thought he brought a lot last year in his limited minutes, but it doesn't matter how much I like his game, or the talking heads like his game, there is only one opinion that matters...

One thing I noticed in those highlights was that Mitchell looked a bit small trying to guard Alec Burks and Joe Johnson. Both of them got separation and knocked down open looks. I'm not sure if Mitchell was really going all out on defense or not, but it's something to keep an eye on. He may be better off defending smaller guards and wings.

Another thing is that Alec Burks looks pretty good. He could be ahead of Mitchell in the rotation, at least early in the season. The Jazz may want to play Hood more at the 3 to open up more space for Burks and Mitchell at the 2.

Yeah it's gonna happen he's like 6'3". It's really hard to guard jump shooters in todays NBA. You can't have any forward momentum jumping at them or your foot lands under theirs and it's a foul.

Trade bait.
This is the year I could see something significant happening by the deadline. Mitchell is going to be pushing for playing time. Exum wants to be starter. I could see Mitchell slotting in as a combo guard, still with the potential for 25 mins, but coming off the bench. That makes Exum and Burks very expendable. Or even Hood could be traded if a great option at the 3 became available.

The play with Joe Johnson was basically Rudy giving a screen assist. But Alec Burks got by Mitchell and got a nice finish off the board. Of course, Alec has decent length and athleticism.

Agree. Will Neto end up being the most improved over last season? Wasn't expecting much, but he actually looks like he could be a legit backup instead of 3rd-string.
I think Rubio improves with decent coaching and is actually our PGOTF, which makes Dante very expendable, especially if Mitchell morphs into a combo guard. At his size, I'd really like to see DM be able to play some PG. Package Dante and Hood for a stud 3. Ingles would be a very good backup in that scenario. Or trade for a PF if Favs isn't able to stay healthy.
