Mitchell, the next Damian Lillard but with defense

Not really, he was benched for a while. He didn't take off until mid-season. And even then he was nothing like Mitchell.

Agreed completely. While it is only pre-season and the Lakers, I cannot remember a rookie Jazzman look anything like this. Kid's got "it", talented, fearless, clutch.

Is there a limit to how many DM jerseys you can buy at each fanzz store? I feel like 15-20 may not be enough.

Addictionary, did you really just compare Michell to Fes? Like, Fesenko? The goofball who never cared? The guy who was smoking before practice, died his hair to piss off Sloan, and never scored more than about 10 ppg in a summer league game until maybe his third season?

That is hilarious. You should get your hopes up my friend. Attitude, passion, the minutes quien has played him already. Barring injury, Mitchell will be playing 4th quarter minutes by December is my guess.

Eenie, you must have been living in a box. There have been a million posts praising Mitchell. I went to all of the summer league games as many of us did and we said that Mitchell was the best rookie summer league player the jazz had ever had. Name one that played better since the summer league began.

Dat Fesenko comparison doh...

No no no no way. Lol. I was replying to Thee Jazz fan but obviously failed to do so. He was high on Fes too and learns from his experience of disappointment from Fes to not trust Mitchell. I tried to say that we should not measure backcourt players and frontcourt players the same scale of how much talent they can show early on.

Mitchell is already here. Dude arrived early. Just needs to gain experience that is all. The under the sea part of the iceberg a-comin’.

I actually liked him from the first interview I saw of him. Just seemed so poised and charismatic.

So, I'm an oddball of the group. It was his offcourt stuff that first got me going. Watching him play has kept me there though.

I think we are all pretty excited about him. I think he's having the best summer of any rook since Deron. In the game tonight I kept wanting the team to give him the ball. Not because I wanted to give him experience, but because I wanted to win the game!

This says volumes, IMO. I felt the same way.

I thought he had great potential from the first shooting practice video I saw. Prior to that I was a little concerned about his shooting percentages in college, if I recall correctly.

Whaaaat? You have a short memory. I love Mitchell and I agree that the kid is going to be an all star, but DWill was great in his first rookie game against Dallas. The reason why Williams wasn't as hyped is because he was playing behind milt "captain crunch pilacio

Deron had trouble getting to the rim when he was a rookie. He got better as the season went on, but he came into the league getting rejected constantly on his attempts at the rim. I think it might be your memory that is selective.

Don't forget that in Deron's rookie season Sloan stubbornly refused to feature him and played scrubs like Milt Palacio over him. Deron didn't begin flourishing until the end of his rookie season, when Miller finally forced Sloan to play him, and then his second year.

But I was the one who first said he will become a hybrid of Dame on Offense, Avery Bradley on Defense. #irrational_exuberance[/URL]

Well, to begin with, getting excited about some guys in shorts running around and throwing a ball into a hoop, is a bit irrational, don't you think? Time will tell how good he will be. Life is full of surprises. Rudy is our first big surprise; no one ever expected him to be as good as he has become. You could say Ingles is the second, but nothing DM does is going to surprise us now.

So DWade had an 8'6" standing reach and measured out at over 6'4". That makes it harder to compare Mitchell to Wade, but I can see some Lillard and maybe some young Bledsoe.
