What's new

Is Favors in the long-term plans at this point?

Yeah, I'd assume so. Rubio is probably really hard to trade and get something of value, or even something cap relief, in return. They will probably trade Favors and hope Rubio figures it out in the new lineup post-Favors.

I was at Best Buy eating a Churro and heard that we are trading Rubio to Phoenix in a three team deal that sends Dudley and Joe Jesus to Sac and George Hill back to Utah.

Seriously though I think if Phoenix wants him they'd give up Monroe and maybe a second rounder (they have like 5-6 draft picks this year so will need to consolidate at some point).

Why? I mean, I love Joe, that's my only hesitation, but is there something else?

I mean, I just get the feeling the relationship with Hill/Jazz isn't the best. Maybe because of the injury issue with his toe or maybe because of his relationship with Rudy? IDK, all speculation.

And the dude is just stupid. He really went to the Kings and is now getting pissy cuz they told him they would compete but they arent. I didn't hate on him for chasing the big payday, but I'm going to hate on him complaining about being on a losing Kings team when he chose to be on the Kings.

I am not sure he is complaining though... he explained the tweet and just said he's frustrated. I think maybe him being in Sacramento and going through FA may humble him a bit and he might be open to a reunion.

I just don't want to endure more Rubio/Gobert Pick and Rolls. Need a way out.

I think you whiffed hard in this post, btw.

The Rubio thing is just an unmitigated disaster. I think a reunion would be welcomed by all parties (especially since his contract is only partially guaranteed in 2019).

I'm sure whatever hatchet there is between him and Gobert will be buried after all of the offseason craziness and how **** has sucked since they parted. Also think that **** is mostly-overblown. Also think Hill is kind of a perfect player for this system and roster.

I fail to see how a late first round pick is worse than nothing. What a dumbass. I hate I resorted to name calling, but what an absolutely ignorant, stupid, baseless comment.

When you attach bad contracts on to that then it becomes worse than nothing. Being called a dumbass by a guy like you is a compliment. When you see a moran so stupid he thinks his **** doesn't stink you should strive to have that guy think your a dumbass. So thank you.

I’m not terribly concerned if his toe flares up and we have to run DM and Neto at PG for a couple weeks either.

I think we would need a guard if we moved Rubio and the three team deal is something I could see all parties approving.

I think DL would be wary of sending Joe Johnson to purgatory. He's probably the biggest free agent signing of DL's career; and I know they're trying to set a new precedent.

Who you talking to, bruh? Or did you forget which account you were logged into??

I am willing to bet my house they are more aware of what is going on then anyone on this board and also that they have a better idea of cause and effect then we do. I also trust their judgment in how to proceed. But then I happen to be one who has a lot of trust in Quinn and DL.
The problem with fans (and I'm as guilty of this as anyone) is we can't see the inner dynamics of the team. For example benching any of Rubio, Favors or Gobert probably loses that player for the year. These are all players that are used to be starters and would likely not take it lightly to be benched. So if you take the step to bench Rubio (My choice to eat pine) you risk losing that players interest in the teams well being permanently.

That said you can't continue to ignore the 100 LB elephant in the room. And that is you can not in today's NBA play consistent minutes with 3 non shooters on the floor. Hell it is hard enough to play with 2 non shooters on the floor and should only be done for small stretches of games. So if Rudy and Favors are going to work, (I believe they can) It must be in small stretches of games and it must not include another non shooter (Rubio). Also I don't believe you can find real success with a PG, SG or SF playing significant minutes who can't shoot.

Send Exum, get more back?

Roast me, y'all.
I like you too much to roast you for that. I'm ready to let it ride with Exum unless the bidding gets out of control (unlikely).

I just don't understand why either PHX or SAC would want Joe Johnson. I think they'd like 2nd rounders more; and I'd be more inclined to send them, too.

I'd make them agree to buy him out before I sent him there. Let him pick his destination... He is a contract filler in the deal. I know he is much better than that, but the contract is too big for a contender to acquire (imo).

It would be doing him a solid and allow us to roll forward with Thabo/Jonas getting the stretch minutes.
