Welcome to Colton's Mock Draft Compilation, v. 8.0. Here are who the mock drafts are listing as the "best players". See below for details. It should give a pretty good idea of who will be available when the Jazz pick.

5 Kemba Walker (7)
6 Kawhi Leonard (5)

9 Bismack Biyombo (8)
10 Alec Burks (10)
11 Tristan Thompson (11)
12 Donatas Motiejunas (12)
12 Marcus Morris (13)

Ranking details: I used the following mock drafts as "voters" for the best players. That is, I assumed they ranked the players in the order that they felt like the players deserved to be drafted. (This is an incorrect assumption, because some mock drafts account for perceived team need, but it should be close.) Then I used the "instant run-off voting" algorithm in a program I wrote to deduce who deserved to be ranked in the top spot, then in the second spot, then in the third spot, and so forth. See here for details on that algorithm: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting

Chad Ford 2.0 (ESPN insider) May 17

Changes from v 7.0: I continued to only use mock drafts which have been updated POST LOTTERY. There are seven mock drafts which are new and/or have been updated since the last version of my compilation.

One of the most exciting things about Dwill2 to me is that he wants to play the 3.
Maybe we should call him Dwill3?

Harris - Hayward - Williams - Al - Favors next year sounds delicious.

Kanter/Knight + Marcus Morris would be a damn solid draft (although I'm still hoping for DWill, in which case Marcus Morris would likely not be the #12).

Williams + second tier PG (eg. Reggie Jackson)/Biyombo(if only...) would be nice as well.

Locke is bad talking Marcus Morris which means he is a "lock" at 12.

I missed that part of his show yesterday. I heard the start, when he was mentioning that he felt those twins would have problems being separated (which confused me). What else did he say?

Looks like the combine hype bumped all the college kids.
I expect to see the Euros get bumped next month after the Euro Camp.

Jan Vesely, Jonas Valanciunas, Bismack Biyombo, Donatas Motiejunas

They are all bigs and bigs usually rise in the draft projections later than the gaurds and wings.
Also the longer Dallas and Dirk are in the playoffs the more comparisons will be made to Jan Vesey or Motiejunas.

Valanciunas will probably rise the most especially if he measures at 6-11 w/o shoes and his rumoured 7'-6" wingspan is true. I've read that Kanter had a great stat line against Valanciunas in 2009, but that was two years ago. I think had Valanciunas been in Chicago that we would not be hearing so much about Enes. DX or hoopshype twitter reported that one GM said Enes and USC JR Nikola Vucevic were about the same. Anyone wonder why Enes announced so early that he won't work out against anyone??? As GM's are able to see Valanciunas I think Kanter moves down and Valanciunas moves up.

KOC is in favor of mismatches. That's one of the reasons he drafted Hayward. And he and Kahn are buddies. If Minny likes Kanter, maybe KOC makes a deal with them to move up to #2 to take Williams. I still think it's a pipe dream, though. Rubio is coming over and the Wolves already have a better 4/5 in Love. Williams should be their man. Of course, they also have Beasley, but he's rumored to be on the trading block. To me that sounds like they're pretty set on taking Williams.

If Minn likes Kantor, and Cleveland takes Irving, would Minn swap picks with Utah for Bell and GS's pick? While that GS pick could be good, it just feels like the NY pick. It feels like a better asset than actually is.

So you don't like Hayward.

Colton, do you realize there are a few sites that compile all this info? Maybe it would save you some leg work, lol.

Which sites are those? I know of a couple which compile a list of where the mock drafts are (that's where I got a lot of the websites on my own list), and I know one that sort of compiles a list of the top 3 (or 5?) picks from each mock draft. But I don't know of any site that keeps track of the top 40 or so picks from each mock draft (which is what I'm doing).

There's lots more too.

I am still hoping for

Cleveland - wliiams
Minny - kanter
Utah - Irving
Cleveland - knight

Cleveland - Williams
Minny - TRADE - Team X takes Irving
Utah - Knight
Cleveland - YIKES! They desperately wnated a PG and outfoxed themselves.

Therefore:
Cleveland - Irving
Minny - Williams
Utah - Knight
Cleveland - Kanter
