Yeah, they'd get Favors. Who is value, but expiring. There is no way they are shopping their first just for dumping Asik. I don't believe that.
It's happened before

Asik's deal is essentially up after next year (only $3 million guaranteed in 19/20) and with the stretch provision it can be stretched easily. It isn't that cancerous to give up a 1st alone to be off it.
Its still gonna go through
I think by value he means a multi-year contract player. They'd obviously want a really good player on an expiring.I was quoting the tweet you quoted saying they Pelicans have been shopping Asik and a 1st, not expecting value. That's what I find hard to believe.
Most likely with a 3rd team. Its still gonna go through

I bet New Orleans is trying to send Asik AND Ajinca with the 1st for Mirotic. Pelicans would save $17 for next year instead of just Asik's money. Now that deal would be a steal for NOLA.
KC Johnson: Told Pels-Bulls potential Asik-Mirotic deal could involve another player from Pels if it happens. Mirotic’s option hasn’t been picked up yet so he has say for now.

It makes much more sense for them to trade Hill and stretch Asik. I agree in the thinking that dumping Asik is not worth a pick alone.
Favs for Asik and their first? Do it and then hold Chicago hostage if they want the pick.
