REALGM: Joe wants out

Hope Utah doesn't do to JJ what the team did to Raja; that was a complete lack of class on the part of Greg Miller.

My hell, you have a way of spinning things. It just hit me like a ton of bricks who you are, glass eater aka core4 aka stifle tower. I thought you quit last year because Utah couldn't run a team like Denver? BTW, Utah is only 3 games behind those guys. Hope you're not too upset if we knock them out of the POs even after missing Gobert for half the season.

Glad someone else sees it. I wish he’d just come out and stop claiming he’s some guy from Spokane.

If he wants out, then the buyout should be very little. Otherwise what is the incentive for the Jazz, He's the one that wants out. If he really wants out to play for a contender then take the least amount the Jazz can pay him and be bought out.

If he wants bought out then buy him out for the minimum the rules allow and let him find a contract for a contender.
.

The incentive for Utah is to treat him really well because guys like him aren't beating down doors to play in Utah. You want other players to hear how things work in Utah so that someday they might consider signing here as well.

BTW, Utah was talking of buying him out well before this story came out. Not only are they not going to play hardball with him, they will not trade him to the highest bidder, but instead help him get to a team he wants to play for. That means they will buy him out, even if it means turning down some minor asset from a team he doesn't want to go to.

Utah is going to bend over backwards to treat Joe well in this case.

A thousand times, this

I don’t worry about the JJ issue. I think JJ will get bought out and have nothing but good things to say about the Jazz and playing here. I wish Joe luck and have nothing but gratitude for what he did for us last season and post season and even this season with the young guys.

Love JJ. Always have. Great guy and amazing professional. Dying breed. I hope he gets on a contender and wins a ring. No one deserves on more.

I agree they should treat him well. But he's the one that wants out. Why should Utah pay the majority of his remaining salary? He wants out they should trade him if possible somewhere he wants to go. If that doesn't work then work out a buyout, but it shouldn't cost the Jazz the majority of the remaining salary to do him a favor.

In the end it doesn't matter much. The salary comes off the books so even if they buy him out for the full amount then it doesn't change the future.

Send him to Boston for the Hayward exception. I'd love to see JJ back Bron down in the playoffs. Does that put us below the salary floor though? Or would the exception keep us above... I assume it is possible as trade machine shows an exception for Haywood.

What the hell is the deal with Jazz fans wanting to make favorable trades with the Celtics? **** that. **** them. I’m not dealing with Boston until Ainge is gone. Find a better deal that won’t piss off the majority of the fan base.
