That must have been why he actually tried on defense against the Warriors.
I think there were a couple of players on The Jazz "auditioning" on Tuesday night.

Especially if it's known he'll be bought out, I don't think anyone will give up anything for him or pay that salary unless they're dumping something undesirable on us. I give it a 75% chance he's just bought out rather than traded.
I don't see the Warriors doing that. McGee is useful.
Thank you Joe for your service.
what if....
we can send HOOD, johnson for the potential 2-5 pick the celtics get from the lakers..........................is it risky? i think the lakers are going to continue to **** it up.
Donovan Mitchell has done more, save Joe Johnson only, for the competition of Jazz basketball in this decade, than any other man that ever played in it.Joe Johnson did more for this franchise in one playoff series than Gordon Hayward did in a 7 year Jazz career. Mad props.
A second rounder MAYBE.That's fine. Give us a pick in return.
Hayward was an All Star and made playoffs. Donovan Has done none of the thus far. Get Real!Donovan Mitchell has done more, save Joe Johnson only, for the competition of Jazz basketball in this decade, than any other man that ever played in it.
If he wants out, then the buyout should be very little. Otherwise what is the incentive for the Jazz, He's the one that wants out. If he really wants out to play for a contender then take the least amount the Jazz can pay him and be bought out.Love Iso Joe! Fun to watch him and having him be a part of the team! I think that this is an admirable thing to do for him. $11 Million this year minus 61% of the season already played (50 / 82) = roughly $4.29 million buyout if he isn't taking a discount. He likely gives us a discount because he will make at least the vet min with anyone else. So... $2.5 - $3.5 million dollar buyout sounds reasonable.
I hope that happens because I would like to see him compete with another team for a championship.
In spite of that I am getting more optimistic that we could make the playoffs and I think that we could use him if we get there. Pelicans losing Cousins. Clippers losing Griffin. Jazz getting back Gobert. Still, Joe wouldn't be on a contender team with us either way.
