Wouldn't say that's true. I like most of Detroit's player to some level. They just have no PG or playmakers on the perimeter.LOL .. there's absolutely nobody I want from their team. Sans Drummond, Jackson and Blake they're all scrubs.
"At some level"??Wouldn't say that's true. I like most of Detroit's player to some level. They just have no PG or playmakers on the perimeter.
likewise. Saw him play a bit as a junior. Definite potential, good athleteI reaaallly like Bolden from Philly.
funny how the two that a lot of people drooled over in that draft, Johnson and Winslow have just struggled so badly
I think he's a center because he fits a team better in a Sam Perkins type role than trying to be some all purpose PF. On offense, he is a PF when Tristan is in the game. On defense, he is a center. This is like the whole Tim Duncan argument. Both offensively and defensively, he played like a center. He almost always guarded the other team's slowest and biggest guy.
If you put Love next to a guy like Draymond Green, Porzingis, Iggy, Millsap, Harrison Barnes, and others, he would be an incredible center. He's better as a center in today's NBA, especially the playoffs, than he is at PF. Look at him next to a noshoot "center" in TT, and you'll see his numbers were nonexistent when the Cavs won the finals 2 years ago. He struggled again last year.
As for the #1 option, yes, he was in Minnesota. And the team sucked really badly while he put up great stats. He is better as a 3rd option if you want your team to win. Kyrie (when he was with the Cavs) and now that he's gone has proven that. Love doesn't lead to wins.

And he's a really good Euroleague player now who could probably make the jump back into the NBA as a stretch 4.Johnson reminds me of a more hyped of version of that Singleton guy from Hayward's draft I think.
Also, I'd take Winslow over Johnson, still think there's something there. Not as optimistic about Stanley.

If we added Fournier ($17) and Gordon (expecting Gordon to get a max which is $27 million first year WOW)
2018 salaries:
Gobert $23
Ingles $13
Mitchell $3.1
Bradley $1.7
O'Neale $1.4
Exum $10 (let's just say that's what he gets)
TOTAL: $57 million
Four&Gor: $44
New TOTAL (8 players): $101
Rubio ($14.5) - we could try to trade if we value Exum more
Burks ($11.5) - we would pray to trade
We are over the luxury at around $126+
Thabo ($5.3) - probably let go
Udoh ($3.4) - we would keep if we could dump Burks
Jerekbo ($4.2) - probably let go
If we did a trade getting Fournier and signing Gordon to a max deal, wow our finances are tough. Jerekbo and Thabo are casualties for sure. Maybe Udoh too. Burks would have to be dumped to avoid the tax. The most simple thing to do would be to trade Rubio for an expiring. And did you see, Hood isn't even on here.
Gordon is not worth the Max and I was a huge fan before the draft. I wanted the Jazz to draft him but giving a guy $27 million who shoots like him is not smart business.
As far as I know, he's fully guaranteed, and owed ~$19 million per season after this one.Whats another 1st worst? Apparently NYN have put their 2018 1st out there to move Noah...
Burks + JJ for Noah and NYs 2018 1st?
Couldn't we just buy out Noah before next years FAcy?

If you strike out on that pick, could you imagine having Noah on that last year? Swallowing his contract is worth a lot more than that, but perhaps not in today’s hyperinflation of draft pick value perception.Whats another 1st worst? Apparently NYN have put their 2018 1st out there to move Noah...

In other words, if you think a draft pick is worth $37+ million in addition to whatever cap ramifications, then, I mean... I hope you're getting Donovan Mitchell 2.
The closest possible avenue I can see a deal happening for the Jazz is sending Rubio and Burks for Noah in order to free up $7-$8 million in cap for the 2018 offseason. But then they'd have to also renounce rights, cut, or trade Exum, Udoh, Jerebko, Thabo, and probably Hood and Neto in order to have substantial cap space. So in that case, they'd better have a damn clue what they're doing.
In short, nothing is happening.
Stretching Noah, especially BEFORE FA would take up $7-$8 million for FIVE years.
Literally would only consider taking that deal if it were for Porzingis.

Yeah, probably the worst in the league. If it was a 2019 expiring, get on the damn phone yesterday.Fair enough. For some reason I thought his contract finished 2018/19... That contract really is hideous!
