Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

Call me crazy, but I do not want Lebron period. I hate his attitude.

What's wrong with his attitude? He wants to win so badly that he'll even push the FO to be better? Is he better off just grinning and bearing it? The guy is an absolute beast and his teams are always relevant regardless of his supporting cast. The guy would absolutely shine on our roster.

Same, but not for his attitude. I just don't think I'd enjoy getting a championship like that. IF he had come here instead of Miami at that stage of his career I'd be interested. Winning is the ultimate goal, but to me it matters how you get there too. The Jazz would have to change so much to accommodate him (the offensive system, the players we would bring into help him win etc). It wouldn't even feel like the Jazz anymore, and I don't think I would enjoy that as much.

But if you just want to win a championship at all costs then I could see this being appealing.

I think the Cleveland situation is simply toxic. Despite all that LeBron does for the community, the owner and LeBron are still at odds. Firing David Griffen was probably the most idiotic thing Gilbert could have done. Mindblowing really.

Miami fans adored LeBron. I think Utah fans would too. It would help that Quin can actually coach just like Spoelstra.

If we are going to bring up LeBron, and I'm not joking, his best fit for the next 4 year contract would be with us. If we were able to shed Burks, renounce Thabo and Jerekbo, maybe Udoh, we could have:

PG Rubio
SG Mitchell
SF Ingles
PF LeBron
C Gobert
Exum, O'Neale, our 2018 1st, Bradley

You can't leave Ingles or Mitchell open. Gobert cleans up the paint. Our defense would be unreal. The roster takes pressure off of LeBron having to do everything. And if he is worried about legacy, he would be the GOAT if he brought a title to Cleveland AND Utah.
Our team construction is perfect to plug in an Allstar (or 2). We have rim protection, defense, 3pt shooting, ball movement, exciting youth, veteran depth and great coaching.

I hope this is the approach DL is taking and looking to aquire Allstar/All NBA talent in 18/19 Free Agency.

I know it is fashionable to attack Dan Gilbert about the mess in Cleveland. I won't defend him, but I will say Lebron was an actor not a mere spectator in the drama that got them to this point.

Lebron insisted on JR Smith, Iman Shupert and supported that awful Tristan Thompson contract, he got the players he wanted. He got the coach he wanted. He calls the plays he wants.

I would be incredibly excited to have Lebron on the Jazz, and forever nervous about the scorched earth he could leave behind.
