Hood traded to Cleveland for Crowder; Johnson to Sacramento

Ehh, it will be difficult. We dont win the Memphis game without Hood's offense. The Pelicans game might have even been a struggle without Hood. There will be nights were you cant tell he is gone, but there will definitely be games where he is missed.
Sure.

The fact remains that Hood wasn't a positive factor for most games.

I am not a big fan of this trade for the Jazz because I am not certain that Crowder is a better fit for the current team than Hood, however, it feels like a fair exchange of value. If there are subsequent trades today then this trade could end up looking better.
I think the Jazz traded 2 ball stoppers for a guy who thrives in an offensive system of ball movement.

He took kind of a lot of shots to get those points (he wasn’t all that efficient)

So in answer to your question, simply have other players take the shots hood was taking. Could work out even better if more efficient players are now taking the field goal attempts that hood was previously.

Hood was really efficient for the difficulty level of the shots he took. All he has to do is figure out how to get to the FT line a couple more times a game, which he was starting to show signs of.

This trade wont hurt this year, but when he blows up next year a lot of people will be questioning it.

Hood is not really better though. And for Sure at 15M+, Hood is not better than Crowder at 8M.
With all 2nd contracts you are paying for expected return in future years. So it's more if you think Hood two years down the road is better than Crowder (which I think he will be).

Trading him was 100% the right move though, no complaints there. Just wish we got better return and there was more willing buyers on the market.

Most metrics disagree, and he also didn't play a whole lot of games which gets factored in here as well.
Health stuff, yeah, I cant argue with anyone questioning the reliability of his ability to be available.

People who overly rely on metrics though, I just cant agree with them all the time. In Hood's case I think they are flawed because the role he was asked to play is one that lends itself to looking bad on advanced metrics.

In the Memphis game I did see him get beat on defense pretty bad a number of times though and take some bad forced shots while teammates were open.
1 rebound, zero steals and zero blocks in that game leaves something to be desired as well. 2 assists wasn’t bad or good really.
0-5 from three.
5-12 from the field. (He did get to the line a lot though. 8-8)

Looking at his overall game against Memphis..... I think we win it without him.

No way lmao. His defense wasnt bad in Memphis at all. We dont win without him, it's pretty cut and dry in that game. I dont think there is much of an argument there against it.

Lol. I disagree 100%. His defense was so obviously bad and he provided nothing other than some points. Someone else could get those points. He wasn’t all that efficient.

Yeah, thats BS. He was inconsistent, sure, but he was usually a positive factor.

He wasn't. Between all the missed games and the inconsistencies, he wasn't a positive factor for the majority of games (more than half) Jazz played during his time with the team.

I'd say he was a positive factor for 25-30 games each season.

He would have been making Curry-like money, per capita, had the Jazz extended him.

He's a very efficient three point shooter. When he plays. His numbers are good in that area, which is, like you said, all he offers.

I might be wrong, but I bet we'll like having Crowder here.

ALways sorta felt like Crowder was destined to be on the Jazz. I'll miss Rodney - will never forget that game against the Lakers two years ago when he was like 8/8 for 3s in the first half - kobe spent the rest of the game glued to him even at the cost of wide open layups

The Jazz roster is now lacking shooting off the bench.

It was lacking hood when we beat Toronto in Toronto, golden state by 30, and he barely played when we beat San Antonio in San Antonio where he was 2-5 from he field and a negative 2 in plus minus.

We are 10-5 this season when hood doesn’t play.

That’s quite a bit better than our overall record.
