Following Potential 2018 Draftees

It's just super weird. I'm not sure anyone has a lower steal percentage in college basketball among players who people view as NBA prospects. i assume it's part of the scheme that they run defensively, but even then, it's crazy that he doesnt luck into more steals with how athletic/big he is compared to the competition he faces.

I haven't watched him at all, but is it a situation where he's relied on to score to the point where he just doesn't play much defense?

That doesnt explain it at all. He only scores 15 ppg and takes 12 shots. It's hard not to luck into more steals.

Coach K is doing soemthing wrong... Showcasing Allen too much...

Those 4 bigs, Carter,Bagley, Bolden and DeLaurier play a combined 90 minutes and only score 23 points?

thats cutting off your nose to spite your face...

David Locke today went on today about how Raul Neto helps the team play better when he's on the floor. He then mentioned that Mitchell is more effective offensively when he doesn't have to take on the PG duties. He also made it sound as though Mitchell plays better next to Neto than Rubio. The bottom line is that it isn't a ringing endorsement of Rubio, and it makes me wonder if the Jazz see Rubio in the team's longer term plans. If not, then I could see the Jazz go for a versatile guard or wing, seeing that as one of the team's needs.

There are a lot of directions that the Jazz could go and the fact that they will get to evaluate Exum before the season ends will do wonders. I am still firmly on the bandwagon of a future Exum/Mitchell back court. I think the center position is set that leave the 3 or the 4 that need the most help. I want to draft a 3/4 or a 4/3

Some one please explain why Trevon Bluiett is not talked about more. I havent had a chance to watch any Xavier games but looking at stats he seems like a solid early second round pick.

6'5" good height for a 2 guard
43.4% from 3 on 7 attempts per game
84% from the FT line
45% from the field
19 ppg as a senior
He has increased in most statistical fields every year

I am guess he is a poor defender
He only has average athletiscim
Low steals .7 per game
only 2.7 assists
He will be 24 just after the season starts (November 4, 1994 (age 23))

I dunno, the trouble is we have a lot of pretty good 3/4 guys. If we're getting somebody at one of those spots we really need him to be a clear starter level guy, and that can be tough to land in our draft range. I think getting a good backup guard could be a better option.

What? We are most set at the 5 and imo the 2. Mitchell isn’t a point guard on offense. He’s not. After that, we seem most settled at the 1 with Rubio and Exum.

Ingles is a really solid player. I love the guy but he’s not breaking down defenses and can be stimied if played well like he was in a lot of playoff games last year. We need a legit threat at the 3 or the 4 (a stretch 4 to replace Favors) most of all and it seems pretty clear to me. Then a 1 after that.

There is 0 reason to think of positions so rigidly other than the 5 w/ regards to Utah's system.

After watching that video I'm 1000% in on the guy... checked the stats. Think he could be a great stretch 4. Seems to move really well and plays BIG at the rim. 3 blocks per 30 minutes. He needs more minutes. His game logs seem to be trending up.

Check out his offensive and defensive rating on the link above... 123.4 ORTG, 65% TS%. Doesn't take enough threes but it looks like butter. Good passing especially for a big.

The surface volume numbers look pedestrian, but doing a per 40 and deep dive I'm surprised I've never heard of the kid. Just turned 20 so it ain't like he's an old sophomore or something.

Great find.

Anyone have him mocked in the top 40? I could see a Kuzma like draft board rise.

I largely agree, the 5 is locked in with Rudy and Mitchell's got one of the guard spots locked down whether we call him a 1 or 2. Who knows with Exum for the other guard spot - I just hope we get to find out this season. If a real good looking 3 or 4 is available then we should absolutely go for it, however all the guys at that position mocked in our range that I see look more like backup material. And if we're looking at a backup type guy I think we need a guard more than we need a wing or stretch big.
