What's new

Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Wenyen Gabriel looked like a 1st rd pick today, that was glorious. 7/7 from 3 brings him up to like 39% on the year...

PJ Washington is also looking like a first rd pick.

Shai Gilgeous is a so shifty with his change of direction and speed. UK is looking dangerous.

y'all see they caught a 20-year old, Jimmy Sorunke, posing as a HS freshman in Maryland??? lol

I've got some time to kill and a lot of tea to drink so i'm gonna flood some updates. I might even make some new threads for years we dont have covered yet

I just wanna say the Pac-12 DPOY, Matisse Thybulle, in the mid-to-late 2nd rd would be tremendous value IMO... He is a 3-and-d player with palpable upside IMO..

Even thru all the "Fultz has no help" claims last year I always swore by Thybulle, and this season he's justified my faith for sure. He's quite athletic, looks like a legit two-way player, he imo is a legit NBA player and will stick for a while....

and yes, there are some Wes Matthews comparables...

the most extreme comp I've heard recently, believe it or not, is Scottie Pippen LOL..

He completely crushed the Washington single-season record for steals, it was like 60-something and he's up to 93...

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is playing himself right into the Jazz range. His ability to change speeds and directions and defend and hit open shots and a lot of stuff including a 6'11 wingspan is the reason why.

He'd be a very good match with Mitchell in the frontcourt for many years to come IMO.

Wenyen Gabriel has been truly awesome these last 2 games...

I swear he is a perfect fit on the Rockets.

Now shooting a clean 40% from deep on the season 39/97...

He's EVERYWHERE too. Omnipresent.

Shai "The Canadian Comet" Gilgeous-Alexander deserves way more respect than he's been shown in this thread.

He's actually gonna end up out of Utah's range, just watch.. He's officially in the jackpot scenario conversation/echelon..

Their player personnel people like Walt Perrin are gonna rave about this kid.

I bet when his HS coaches speak on his improvement in the one year in UK it's gonna sound similar to Karl Towns coaches, who were floored with the staggering improvement.

Shai wakes up 7 in the morning to go to the gym and work on his shooting, and he's the last one out of the gym, they dropped that gem on tv today..

also Malik Newman deserves a lot of mention here for whats gone on these past few days. First things first; He's as good as gone..

I don't see how he can fall very far in the 2nd round, he's definitely re-established himself i'd say even beyond Allonzo Trier..

He is just a super duper 6th man type, the thing with him too is his consistency from truly deep range is really impressive. His footwork has really improved a lot. His shot too is just PURE.

Also on the Kansas front. Silvo De Sousa dropped 18 and 10 on 8/8 from the field yesterday. He meets the age requirement and could end up a factor in the 2018 draft with more showings like that. He's a dynamo in transition and very strong/athletic.

I like SGA but is a PG what the jazz need?Don't get me wrong you have to take BPA and then work out the rest but right now the Jazz have

Pure PG - Rubio, Neto
Combo - Mitchell, Exum
2 guard - O'Neale, Burks

I think if there was a market for Burks he would already be gone. The good news is that the Jazz have Rubio and Burks as nice expire contracts for next year so that means it is worth it to keep both on and see if there is a fire sale to drop salaries at the deadline. I guess you could draft to hold onto them until you can drop some of that weight. There is also the possabilty that they the Jazz are going to let Exum walk (Not seeing it they can sign him pretty cheap IMO)

biggest thing with porter is he looked like the worst run/jump athlete out there. its one thing to look lost, to miss shots and be rusty, but the dude couldn't get off the ground and looked slow. either he's still injured which is not good for his stock or he's just not an athlete which is not good for his stock.
He's said that he's at about 65% right now.

He is 6'6 with a 7' wingspan. I think he defies the PG label.

This guy is one of my favorite players from the mid-majors in the tournament. Freshman PG who reminds me of Jrue Holiday at UCLA.

Jazz could lose Neto in free agency (not that we should be planning our rotation around him anyway). Rubio only has one more year on his deal and may want a pay raise. Exum has injury issues, obviously.

If you have a three-guard rotation with Mitchell, Exum and SGA, that's really good, and you might be able to have some minutes with all three on the floor.
