Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Been wondering if mo Wagner could play next to gobert? (I know cy will say no he is a 5)

I am very concerned about his desire to play defense. If he is properly motivated could he guard the new pf in the nba?

I think his ability to rebound and stretch the floor would be amazing on the jazz.

Part of my problem is I am a big Killian Tillie fan so then I can't like Wagner.

I guess if DL drafts him I will like the pick but hummmm

I like Jontay Porter more than Wagner as a prospect. I trust Porter to rebound, defend and even rim protect a little compared to Wagner, and I think he can develop his ball skills. Also think Porter is I bit more natural at pick-and-pop.

Interesting second round prospect

Australian guard William McDowell-White is declaring for the 2018 NBA draft.

"As a competitor, I am excited to enter the NBA draft and compete at the highest level," McDowell-White told ESPN. "I feel like I can contribute and help an NBA team win games. After a successful season in Europe, I have gained some great experience and developed as a player."

McDowell-White, a 19-year old 6-foot-5 point guard, is having one of the most productive seasons of any international prospect in Europe not named Luka Doncic, averaging 12.5 points, 6.9 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 2.1 steals in 32 minutes per game for Baunach in Pro A Germany. After failing to get academically eligible to play at Fresno State in 2016, he made the unconventional decision this past summer to leave his home country of Australia and join European powerhouse Brose Bamberg in Germany. McDowell-White made his Euroleague debut in December against CSKA Moscow, and has practiced with Bamberg extensively all season, while seeing most of his playing time with Bamberg's second team.

"Practicing everyday against some of the best players in the Euroleague has really helped me elevate my game," McDowell-White said. "People say the Euroleague is the second best basketball league in the world. It has been a tremendous experience learning from the great coaches and players in Bamberg."

McDowell-White, the son of prominent Australian football player Darryl McDowell-White, emerged on NBA radar at the FIBA U19 World Championship in Greece in 2015, where he represented his national team as a 17-year old. He received an invite to the prestigious Nike Hoop Summit game the following year.

He has excellent size and strength for the point guard position, and he's a highly creative ball handler, passer and pick-and-roll player, while also showing strong instincts defensively. NBA scouts will want to see him improve on his outside shooting, long considered his biggest weakness, as he's only making 27 percent of his 3-point attempts on the season.

"I want to showcase my skills and meet with the NBA teams who have not had the opportunity to see me in Bamberg," McDowell-White said. "NBA teams will get a chance to know more about me as a competitor as well as learn how versatile and athletic I am as a player. I'm excited to show teams how I am a quick learner whose skills are continuing to improve.

McDowell-White is currently rated the No. 93 prospect in the ESPN Top 100, and is considered a potential second-round pick by NBA teams. As a 1998-born international player, he will have two more opportunities to go through the NBA draft process in the coming years should he elect to withdraw his name at the early-entry deadline on June 11.

Rewatched the Nova/Kansas game and had a few responses.

Mikal bridges will be an amazing Robin to a Batman. I think he can be very good but I don't see a killer instinct in him. Of course I love him on the jazz because we already have gobert/Mitchell. I think he will go top 10 however.

There are some good bigs on Nova. Both spellman and pascall can shot but pascall at 6'9" has some hops. I wouldn't mind either of them.

I might draft devenchinzo (sp) over gayson Allen. His shot is so pure.

Graham has some desire to win. He could be a valuable back pg or even play spot starting minutes in the nba.

Svi could have a career similar to Joe Ingles. Games are similar.

Newman could find a job as a bench scorer but he burns hot and cold. The problem is sometimes he doesn't realize he is cold.

I've seen this kid a few times and was thoroughly unimpressed. Anfernee Simons and his agent would love to work out against, he'll slice him to peices. His footspeed is glaringly not at NBA PG level, he'll get torched.

To be filed under a long list of PG's that aren't better than Raul Neto and Nigel Williams-Goss...

mikal hasn't had a great tournament. would be great if it could push him as low as 12 or so - you can trade for that. top 10, no dice.
I dont see how the Jazz could really trade up. We dont really have an expendable asset like we did last year w/ Lyles and we dont have cap-space to absorb unwanted pieces. Jazz going to draft between 17 and 24.

I also dont see how Mikal drops out of the top 10.

With Lyles they went from 24 to 13. If they want to go from 17 to 12, they could make it work. But it's academic- i agree he's not slipping past 10.

Right now, the Jazz are in the 20th slot. They have Bradley, Crowder and a future pick to move up with. There are a couple teams like Phoenix and LAC who have an extra pick they could trade, but those picks are in the teens.

Jazz could trade Jonas, Thabo, and Udoh to take back a bad deal. I could see Charlotte doing the wet bandit and their pick for our pick and those contracts. They can decline the option and save.

Or we could trade our pick this year and next.

Bridges doesn’t get past Philly though... via the Lakers.

Yeah, but they were able to move up because they had a recent lottery pick that Denver liked. They don't have that player to give up this time.

I think Bradley, a 2nd or two, and taking back an expiring, to free up money this summer for the trade partner, could get us to 19 to 13 maybe.

Villanova is the best college basketball team since ______?

UK during the Anthony Davis year? The Battier/Boozer/Jason Williams team at Duke?
