Eh the players care they're still professional basketball players. And management and coaching staff will care since it won't effect lottery position win or lose. They could take advantage of Russ going for 16 rebounds.
 
Ok so the scenarios are hurting my brain because I'm a little tired tonight.

- If we beat Portland and OKC beats Memphis then we end up 3rd and OKC ends up 6th. We have homecourt vs OKC in the 1st rd.
- If we lose to Portland and OKC beats Memphis then we end up 5th and OKC ends up 4th. OKC gets homecourt against us in the 1st rd.

Is that correct?

What are the outcomes if OKC loses to Memphis?

Correct.

If OKC loses to Memphis, they are locked into 8th. We are guaranteed home court (3rd or 4th) and play any of San Antonio, Denver, Minnesota or New Orleans.

I'm hoping Memphis wins then. I believe we can and would beat OKC. But out of all of the teams we could face in the first round they are the ones I would want to face the least. Westbrook is always a problem for us, their fans are a loud bunch and Adams is a pest on the glass.

Yes we definitely want an (unlikely) Memphis win. We would be in good shape regardless of the outcome of our game if they were to win. Portland would be a lot more motivated than us cause they could lose home court in that situation.
 
If both Jazz and Thunder win... They'll play each other. In most scenarios they'll still play each other.
