Following Potential 2018 Draftees

I can admit when I am wrong. I do it all the time. James Harden was an awful comparison. It blew up in my face.

Doesnt mean my initial point was wrong. To play combo guard, Donte is not at a disadvantage at 6'5" with a 6'6" wingspan.

The fact that you want to argue that is stupid. I'm on my phone and don't want to search comps of guys shorter with shorter wingspans who excelled. There is zero evidence that his size is a weakness.

Hey if this is just gonna turn into a nobody admits they were wrong thing (even though it’s clear that one person was) and we all just stop talking about it. That’s fine. But for the record, from a persuasion standpoint the point does not stand at all. You brought up two examples and both were proven factually false. From a neutral observer standpoint that doesn’t help your case much. In fact you haven’t given a single example of a player who is successful with DD’s measurements. And it wouldn’t even be surprising if there was one! Having a weakness does not mean that a player can’t be successful.

But it has done more harm than good that you can’t bring up a factual example of a similar player. And even more harm that the two ‘go to’ guys you gave as comparisons weren’t really good comparisons at all. Which means you may be working with incorrect assumptions in your head when giving your scouting report

Short version: based on what you have said, and as someone who doesn’t really do much scouting himself, I’ve never been lower on DD’s potential than this very moment.

Just saying.

There are plenty of successful players with Donte's measurements. Those players still have a size weakness though. Y'all really need to put **** into perspective. You can overcome a weakness, but it's still there.

Dudes vertical makes up for being short at 6'5 lol move on

That's my opinion too. He uses his athleticism well to make up for his size deficiencies. I think he's going to be fine. There will be certain players he probably won't be able to guard or switch on to but that's something a good coach can gameplan for and find ways around it. And it's the case for a lot of NBA players. He does give great effort on defense. So if there are times where he gets switched on to a taller/longer player it's not like he's gonna back down. He'll be nuisance.

This reply makes me feel like you didn't really read my post, or I worded it really poorly.

It does not surprise me that some players with DD's measurements are successful.

Weakness: a quality or feature regarded as a disadvantage or fault.

This just in y'all, size matters in sports. Being taller/longer is an advantage and being shorter/smaller is a disadvantage.

I know, **** is mind-blowing.

I think I just read the part where you told him he needs to find examples of players who are successful. I just stopped there because I really dont want him wasting his time looking for size comparisons because that isnt the point.

@LoPo Im sorry you really think Im out to get you. I like making fun of your trade ideas because they are really funny. I have no interest in tearing down a prospect just because you like them. Get over yourself.

I figured Toronto would play a large roll in this crazy summer, but didn't anticipate their being involved in draft drama. I love this week, and it's only Monday.

Cy, you said it was a weakness that Donte is 6'5" with a 6'6" wingspan. Its not.

I don't ever find a need to take shots at people on a forum. You do. Get through your insecurity issues and just be cool. When you take shots at people to make yourself feel better, you are like a 5'6" prospect with a 4'11" wingspan.
