We would have to send assets to Atlanta. I think its highly unlikely. Atlanta will be able to get some great assets if they use their space correctly.

If the Lakers get Kawhi, George and LeBron, we gotta think more long term. The Warriors have a 2 of 3 year window. This Laker thing would also have a 2 or 3 year window.
One of the biggest obstacles for LA getting all 3 guys is Luol Deng. San Antonio nor OKC will take him without taking yet another asset. Financially, he is a major hurdle to this super team.
I think we should sneak in and try to get involved while LA is panicking to get something done before LeBron makes his opt out decision tomorrow.
Offer LA a first and a future 1st swap for Deng and Kuzma. LA can use Ball, Ingram, Hart, their 1sts, our 1st and cap space as trade assets to get Kawhi.
A future built around Donovan, Kuzma, Grayson, O'Neale and Gobert. That's scary now and in 2020 on we are contenders.

Forgot the part about us also giving them a first. I would do EITHER a first or eat Deng's contract for Kuz. Not both, particularly when guys like Tobias Harris are up for FA next year and is rumored to have interest in Utah.

Yeah you lose 1st-round assets and there's a LARGE opportunity cost in tying up all the cap space.
I think the idea of Kuzma is a lot better than reality to a lot of here. But I may be more skeptical of his future than most.
