What's new

Is this the game thread?

Rubio is in a contract year. He either steps up or we go in a different direction. We don't have to extend him. I'm glad we have that flexibility. If he doesn't improve, Exum can provide what Rubio is providing, and we upgrade with a better shooter.

Grayson should force the rest of the team pink wear back packs.

That may be our best lineup. Congrats Grayson, hope you enjoyed your rookie season.

That game was miserable. I don't think I had a positive moment watching the entire night. I feel bad for folks that paid to see that. I feel bad that I wasted an evening watching.

Absolutely zero entertainment value. I'd have been better off watching re-runs of Friends.

Our biggest worry is Donovan. We need him to play well to be a great team. Early last season in an interview he mentioned all of the praise he was getting and said that he needed to stay humble because at any point your shot could go away. I thought it was a weird comment at the time but I think that's his biggest worry-that he doesn't have the consistency in his shooting. Right now that thought is at the forefront of his thinking and it's affecting his whole game. Combine that with less explosiveness due to taking the whole summer off, and the hype all summer as he put himself out there as a star and you have a guy who is struggling. He'll get it back but hopefully it doesn't take long.
I mean for sure. I don’t think that’s too strange if a comment though. A lot of players talk about sometimes your shot doesn’t fall.

After the Warriors he mentioned he can’t get too down on himself. So it tells you he’s feeling it. I hope he has a good game against Houston. He has to have one coming soon.

I think this could wind up being our best lineup eventually. Both Mitchell and Gobert — our franchise players — survive and thrive with spacing. That’s not to mention the benefits to everyone else.

There’s a reason I’ve held back with my confidence in Rubio and Favors. The onus is on them to show that their adaptations are the new truth in contrast to their past.

Nobody could hit a shot so Quin puts Allen in. To do what? Presumably take shots. It was then infuriating watching Exum be a ball hog bitch and not let get Allen a shot.

Also with under a minute to go and down by six and out of the time out, Quin should have drawn up a play for Allen. Instead Mitchell takes the shot. Clank.

Ballgame.

What game were you watching?? Exum only took open shots (which he missed) and only played 13mins...

Also, Grayson turned down half a dozen looks to drive nowhere.

We need to stop treating Rubio like a rookie, the dude is meant to be a vet, stop coddling him and demand he plays better and starts running this offense!!! Ill be ****ed if we need to wait till January for this **** ti make an impact. If he cant do it give the ****ing keys to Exum already.

And if he cant do it find someone who can.

I was commenting on the part of the game where Exum and Allen where on the court together. Exum didn't want to give the ball up.

And all you numptys getting on DM need to chill the ****!!

Bunch of turncoat MFs!!

Have a backbone you spineless *****!

Discussing his struggles isn't turning on him. He'll be back. He was injured the whole damn summer. He was icing on the bench just a few weeks ago. The issue right now is that his physical performance makes it tough to be strong mentally. Because of that he's making some poor decisions. HE needs to chill and focus on making those around him better. It's a tough one, especially for a guy who is used to being spectacular.

Agreed. Most are just saying he needs to figure it out, which he does, but to the few that are kind of hounding on the kid.......He is a second year player, this was game 3, he is 22 years old, he is adjusting to pressures both on and off the court. He has had a lot of attention and a lot of different things happening. He is feeling some pressure, and every fan here should have his back even if these struggles continue for a few weeks......you know....kinda like he had our back when some ******* broke our hearts and left? Remember when DM gave us all a year long hug? Donovan is going to figure it out, it just may take a little bit. If you don’t have heart enough to stick behind Donovan then you don’t deserve the kid and go be a fan of some other team. When he figures it out in the next couple weeks you should feel very silly.

People in here are acting like Jaren Jackson dominated Favors. He only scored 11 points on 12 shots. Yes he used a pretty similar move twice on him to score inside. Favors let him get too deep on those but still contested the shots. Jackson tried it a 3rd time and favors stuffed him.

Favors has sucked at finishing this year for some reason. Although I'm guessing it's the same reason everyone is struggling. Their legs are tired. Snyder runs them hard in practice.

That was how I saw it too... was getting pissy watching Allen and other better shooters turn down shots for it to end up in Ricky and Dante’s hands. Dante had a couple mental mistakes... overall it was just a **** game... on to the next one.

JJJ clearly won that matchup imo... Favs should have punked him cuz he’s a rook... which is kind of the problem... he doesn’t always dominate the smaller guys or matchups we think he should. I love the guy but that is a matchup he needs to win or at very least play even... he did not.

I just want to have a warm and fuzzy Jazz moment. Hasn't happened this season.
I was pretty warm and fuzzy right when first half ended in the golden state game and we were sitting at 81 points and up by almost 20.

There’s a big over-reaction by some. We played the world champs and competed while our franchise guy is having a rough few games....and Memphis gave the Jazz fits last year without Mike C. at home when they were tanking so much so that Gasol had to be benched to ensure the tanking took place. Take a deep breath. If we’re like 3-10 or something that’s a concern. 1-2 with a loss against the world champs and a loss against a team that’s persistently gave us trouble is not that concerning tbh. Jazz are fine.
