What's new

Game 19: Jazz @ Lakers (Free Money on the Lakers Covering) 8:30

Jazz rank 10th in 3pt attempts and 27th in 3pt %

Interestingly (but unrelated?), Jazz rank 29th in ft% and 2nd in ft attempts.

Quin is putting them in a place to succeed not sure why they cant shoot even when they arent being gaurded.

Something seems askew. My uninformed guess is that the players miss Igor, but Phx is in bottom 1/3 of 3pt%.

Maybe team needs a new nutritionist ?

How is he putting the team in a good spot to achieve success, if they don't have good shooters?

Yeah, we know Ricky is capable of playing really well. It's not likely, but it happens.

We know Exum is a walking trash can on offense and he has no offensive upside.

No offensive upside? How do you even know that.
Tonight he picked up his dribble and turned his back at the ft line. You don't think he can take an uncontested jumper from the ft line? You don't think he is **** scared to do anything negative.

He should have been drafted by a dumpster fire team. Never able to just play.

HOLY **** THREE WHOLE MINUTES?How did the Jazz ever recover?

Oh wait, they did by the end of the quarter when it was a 6 point game. Then at half it was tied. Shut your ignorant *** up.

His point was that we always seem to fall behind at the beginning of games. Even if we come back to tie it up later, that doesnt mean we didnt fall behind at the beginning of the game.

Quin is in a tough spot. We are getting shots, they just won't fall. Rubio 3-12, Crowder 2-12, Mitchell 2-9 had terrible FG% and Burks was 5-15

At least burks scored 17 points on his 15 shots. I still think with as bad at offense most if our wings are, he should play more. He has more offensive upside than all of our wings other than DM

It's so sad how some of you make excuses for how bad we are playing. We suck. It's not the schedule. It's not any one player. We just simply do not play well together. Truly disappointing.

I believe last year's winning run was more of a fluke than how we played early last year or this year. We have too many players who don't specialize in anything. I'm so disappointed.

you should take your head out of something you have no clue about. this creep, Tak, has been harassing me for months and months because I'm a fan of Derrick Favors. Yes, you heard that correctly. My crime is being a fan of and vouching for Derrick Favors. This TAK character has repeatedly said nothing but outrageous and derogatory insults at me and frankly i'm sick and tired of it. On the contrary, I nailed his situation down to the T and that's why he is now completely silent.

TAK is very aggressive, very nasty and hot tempered, can't have a civilized conversation without insulting. Pretentious. Kinda like you, popeye

I need to tell you!one thing maybe if you listen ok? It is internet and if he calls you name it’s means nothing. Why you let him bother you. It’s ok to forget it and not ruin day ok? In my country we saying, you can call name but only punch in face make me get mad. I hope I can help you have better day!

I think you might have a point or a fun discussion topic for a bar or round the family living room.. But it would take a lot of words and this is the internet so I think I'm required to act offended and reply with a snarky quip....

Maybe Quin could tell the players to avoid getting fouled? Or to take more contested long twos?

The Jazz post game radio show expressed similar thoughts. Said this years performance was what many people expected from last years team before Donovan happened and the team went on a tear. Suggested maybe they are returning to what they really are.

I don't expect it to but I won't expect Dante to play well until it does.

Quin played the PG position and I think he likes guys with the same traits he had as a player which is understandable for a coach, I just don't think he and Exum connect at all.

Someone mentioned in a previous thread that Many and Tony would drive Pop crazy but Pop had learn to let it go and get over it, I think this is true for Quin also.

If true that Quin and Exum lack the connection necessary for success, why extend Exum's contract?

Not saying that Lindsey doesn't have the forsight to move on from a player like Donte, but I'm not sure he does.

My guess is a disconnect between Quin and FO. Or maybe they just wanted to secure him on a tradable contract and not let him walk for nothing.

Lindsey caught lightning in a bottle last year with his roster.

DM was a late lottery pick
Ingles blossomed from the trash heap
Rudy was a late 1st round pick who had a great year.
Rubio's Kumbaya hair bun made them all play hungry.

Other than that, DL hasn't done **** with this roster.

For some reason I can't quote posts on my new phone on the app but I just wanted to say that the post by straightline that said "clanking layups is the death rattle" was a hell of a post.
Funny, sad, and true.

From douchebag:We know what Ricky is now. I’d like them to throw Exum in the deep end and start him for 20 games and see what he has. Can’t be any worse. If he shows something great if not move on. I don’t think he’s gonna work out in this system that requires decision making, he needs to go play for a crap team that runs simple stuff

I agree. I have been saying this for a while now and I'm an Exum hater.
We tanked for the guy, we re-signed the guy, Rubio sucks anyway and is expiring.
I think we should move Mitchell to the starting point and start Burks at the 2 but if we have to pick between X and rubio then roll with the younger dude on the longer contact who is a better defender since they both suck on offense.

Interesting info graphic from Andy Larson’s article about the reduced impact of Gobert this season. https://www.sltrib.com/sports/2018/11/24/jazz-lakers-analysis-by/

In this season, the Jazz have defended the rim at a below average level with Gobert on the floor. Now, the midrange and 3-point defense has been even worse, but you would have figured that the Jazz could at least locking down the rim with Gobert out there. So far, that’s not the case. In fact, teams have shot about 2.4 percent better at the rim with Gobert in the game than when he is on the bench.
