BREAKING NEWS - Minnesota telling other teams they're taking Enes Kanter at #2 over D-Will 2

https://jazzfanz.com/showthread.php?6468-Latest-draft-buzz-The-top-five-picks-...

Made before this one.

The link in THAT thread, https://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/30601/latest-draft-buzz-the-top-five-picks , clearly states that Minnesota is telling teams they're taking Kanter at #2 and had been posted in AT LEAST two other threads that I saw before you made this one.

EDIT: I also saw this long before you decided to do the BREAKING NEWS garbage.

I guess I don't feel the self promoting urge to do the BREAKING NEWS nonsense when I see stuff like that.

In fairness I suspect you've misinterpreted his motivation for the breaking news headline. Not everyone reads all the all the other sources out there or every thread here nor do they have the obligation to do so.

Possibly, Kahn is likely jealous of the fact Cleveland could be getting Irving and Kanter so is messing with them. Givony has now moved Wiliams back up to 2. We our slotted on his board now for Kanter and Kemba Walker at 12, quite a free fall for Walker if true.

I just wanna point out that in my mock draft I did 2 or 3 days ago, I had Walker going to us at #12.

/Pats self on back.

If Wolves really think it is really close, Kanter makes more sense to them, I agree, just because he can step right alongside Love and Beasley without disrupting the team. If they draft Williams, now they need to trade a young 20ppg scorer, further complicating things. That makes sense, of course, if they think DWill is better. But if it is about the same, you do look at your positional need. That's why if reports are that Wolves are considering both seriously and like both really well, there is a good chance kanter is their pick. That's why I think that report of them picking Kanter at #2 might be real.

I was reading that Beasly is one of the least efficient scorers in the league. It would make perfect sense then to draft williams and shop Beasely. Dwill2 is probably better.

Except Beasley is only 22, has arguably a better skill set then Dwill2, and he is a proven commodity.

Proven to be a loser? Proven to put up highly inefficient stats? Proven to be a cancer? If they don't trade Beasley, I'm guessing it's because its impossible to equal value for his actual skills because no one wants him.

If I was a Minnesota fan I would much rather a frontline of Love and Kanter than have to trade Beasley.

Williams is projecting to be a Beasley type player. Makes no sense.

There are so many unknowns in this draft. I will be fine with whatever guy we pick.

Exactly this.

Put yourselves in Minny's spot.

Kanter would be the no brainer here.

Of course, Minny is run by a bunch of idiots.

He's also a frickin' head case that half the GM's in the league probably wouldn't touch and the other half wouldn't give up anything of substance to acquire in a trade.

My guess is Kahn is not crazy about the scenario of picking up DW2, being stuck with Beasley, who will eventually become a distraction and STILL not having a legit Center -which is much, much harder to get than a legit SF.

On top of all of this, if this is a long lockout and the NBA continues to lose money, eventually the subject of contraction will come up - and Minnesota has to be at the top of this list. This franchise can not play a zero-sum game. They have to get more valuable.

Draftexpress changed their mock draft to us drafting Kanter. Williams had a good one hour run. I guess Givony is calling Kahn's bluff after initially buying it.

Whatever it is, but him changing his mock back to Kanter is not a good sign. It might be a uneventful draft night after all...

Searching for a trade partner

They did not get the offer they were looking for as far as trading away the second pick with everyone thinking they were taking D'Will2, so they claimed they were taking Kanter at 2 to see if that drummed up any trades. Just Kahn getting desperate.

Having the second pick, Kahn will some how screw that up. I promise you that. You could give that guy a glass vase in a padded room and he would still find a way to drop and shatter it.

Well I think its harder to find a talented center than SF in this league these days. So If the T-Wolves don't want either player, they might as well take Kanter because he is only a little worse than Dwill 2, fills a need, and is better trade bait.
