I didn't like Vicci's performance but the song rocked, same with the her Adele cover of "Rolling in the Deep".

OT:If you want a good laugh youtube "tourettes losing my religion". The F word is used once or twice so viewer beware.

Missed Vicci's performance, but thought the others were all really good. And I loved Dia and Blake, and Brad Paisley and Blake. hmmm, I'm noticing a theme . . .

--off to vote for Dia

Blake was awesome, but Dia ruined an otherwise awesome song. I don't get it, she sounds like pure crap.

Vicci's was okay, she had to much energy for the song she was singing though. Her duet with Cee Lo was off the hook though. I was under the impression these were suppose to be original songs from the artist, I was very disappointed when that wasn't the case. Oh well, still some good songs.

But i still love ya...

She's okay. From what I heard the first week, she doesn't have a chance to win it.

I agree. She did a nice job, but from what I've seen she's going to be out of her league.

On the other hand, you never know what people's taste is going to be like. I couldn't believe Casey got eliminated on Idol with Scotty still in it. (I can't stand Scotty's vocal style, I have to fast forward and/or mute his songs.)

She's a very nice girl, but she isn't going to last very long, methinks.

This. Like I said earlier, she's good, but doesn't stand a chance in hell of winning.

Wrong!

See who's #1? It's definitely between Dia and Javier, but I really think Dia is going to win. I am so happy for her.

I can admit that I was wrong about my initial thoughts about Dia. I think it will be between her and Javier. I really liked her original song, as I did Javier's. I still think Javier will win. It's amazing what being on the show and getting the votes has done to her confidence.

Dia's the better and more marketable singer, but no way she's going to win... America has been told to vote for Javier since day one, so that's what's going to happen. This isn't horse racing or college football, underdogs don't win in singing competitions, unless the updog is gay. True story.

America is too stupid to vote for the best singer, so instead they vote for who they are told to vote for, unless of course the gay clause as stated above.

Wrong!!!! Javier is a MUCH BETTER singer!!!!

Javier is a much better singer then Adam Levine but who has the recording contracted? It's not always about the voice, but how you use the voice. Javier is great but he needs to branch out a little bit and be more creative.

These comments were all made early on, and if Dia had continued to perform the way she did initially, she wouldn't have lasted. The rest of us were not already Dia devotees at that point, so we had no reason to believe she was going to make significant progress on a weekly basis. But she has consistently improved as the series has gone on. This has been acknowledged, repeatedly, by several of us. However, as usual, you choose to ignore any positive that doesn't fit your agenda, and instead focus on the most negative aspects of the discussion.

Trout, on the other hand, obviously does not like her vocal style, and has not from the beginning. Such is the subjectivity of art.

I do want to say, from last night's episode, the "original" songs all pretty much sucked - not the performances, necessarily, but the songs themselves. I don't know if the singers had any choice, or if they were just given a song, but what a bad collection of crap. The only one I wasn't cringing over was Beverly's. And it was mediocre at best.

And if they do this again - I'm sure they will - they need to lose all the dramatic periphery and just focus on the singing.

I think this is how it will end tonight.
Dia
Javier
Vicci
Beverly

but I won't be shocked if Javier replaces Dia at the number 1 spot.

What a classy piece of work.

From the true Jazzfanz arbiter of classy posting.

I don't have a dog in this fight. I don't watch singing shows. But I would have been more impressed if she had gotten the lyrics to "Losing My Religion" right.

Also I'd rather have Peter Frampton.

In other news, the "social media room" bits sure make me glad I have Tivo. I just fast forward.

She might have changed the lyrics to Heartless as well.

I didn't even watch that one. I have little doubt that Dia cannot channel the type of craziness that makes someone cheat on their girlfriend, dump them, and then write and perform a fantastic song declaring the dumped to be "Heartless."
