I must be missing something. How was Harris a nightmare for us? He played 17 games, producing just a little under his average in all statistical categories. I don't recall him being a problem on the floor, but he was a new player on a directionless team. I thought he easily met the low expectations set for him.
Good post. The team was more successful with Harris as the starter as the season ended. I think he's a decent stop gap as long as he's willing to learn and run the system Corbin puts in. Our biggest problem right now is no starting quality SF. Millsap is not a starting quality SF and CJ is the only other option and he's not a starting caliber wing either. I am all for trading a big for a quality wing and bolstering that spot in next years draft.
Whatever we do, I will be astounded if we even compete for the playoffs into February. I expect us to have a lot of growing pains early and improve as the season progresses. With our young players beginning to get more playing time and experience as the season goes along. I will be very dissapointed if 2 of these players are not starting by the end with at least 3 seeing a significant role in the rotation. Those being:Favors, Hayward, Burks, Evans and Kanter.
Speaking of those 5 players could they possibly be a decent lineup in the future?
PG Burks
SG Hayward
SF Evans
PF Favors
C Kanter
Burks may have the skills to play as a taller PG in some situations and with Hayward on the floor he would not be the only ball handler.
