What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

I want Conley + Jabari. Or Conley + Niko.

I think it is fairly realistic... the issue will be Conley if Boston loses Kyrie I think they will put Hayward plus two of the guys the draft this year in the trade. It’d prolly beat our offer of Exum and a future pick plus space.

Still wouldn't be excited, but I'd 100% take a gamble on CP3 over Conley. If we moved for either we're obviously saying screw it to cap space for the near future.

Really???? Conley is currently a much better player imo. I would assume acquisition price for mike would be higher.

Let's hope Ainge falls in love with the idea of CP3 instead.

He might elect to go more into a rebuild mode. If Kyrie and Al walk they are effed. I think they'd retool and go young around Brown, Tatum, maybe Hayward and the picks.

Hard disagree on player quality. On the teams they are both on currently I think they're at a pretty similar level (plenty of stats support it, say Goldsteins PIPM - CP3 +3.3 and Conley +3.0), Conley with more offensive responsibility and CP3 the better defender. I'd like to dream that out from under the monstrosity that is the MDA/Harden offense in Houston CP3 could once again be capable of taking up a greater offensive load (not what he once was of course) and be the clearly better player once again. But even in the outcome where he can't he's still a very similar level player to Conley as is. More money/longer contract obviously a bummer, hopefully somewhat offset by acquisition price.

Well reasoned... I just think CP gonna fall off hard in the next year or two. Temperament wise I definitely prefer Conley. Agree to disagree here.

In all this Rockets mess the question is... what about Eric Gordon? I'm guessing he'd be the second or third least likely guy moved, but wonder if he could be had for a somewhat okayish price.

Just kinda meh to me, doesn't really take us anywhere unless we get another much bigger name.

He crushed in the playoffs on both sides of the ball. Would be better if we got a true second banana but I think he'd be really good next to DM and Ingles. I think he can ramp up his usage a bit.

31 and one year $14M. I don't think they want to sell him off for a pick and we don't have players that they would want outside of Rudy, DM, Ingles and they off limits for me.

I would be down then.
I really like his game

Sign me up for Eric Gordon. I don’t think we have anything that would interest Houston though

Yeah... there really is nothing there... its hard because he's a win now piece and they will want a win now piece back... they won't trade him. I think it's likely CP or Capela.

Hey just a note;

With capholds and all of that ****, we don't have a max slot without waiving and stretching Korver, even after waiving and renouncing everyone else that we can.

Exum is very much in the way of building a championship roster and I really hope Lindsey has learned something about falling in love with your own guys.

I should deactivate my account. This is all such a waste of ****ing time.

2021 is the next big off-season. Maybe I'll start a thread about it. But that's probably what I make moves with a focus on if the Jazz can't get a serious player this off-season.
