The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Seems like a good example of running an administration like a mob boss. State Department implicated by Gulianni, Justice Department implicated in the telephone exchange. When the head of departments are loyalists to the boss, and the boss is shaking down the leader of a fragile nation state for his personal political gain, there's a reason Trump has long reminded me more of a mob boss then president.

He's the Don all right, and I still think if we could only follow the money closer, we'd see other echoes of mafia like relationships, and Russian connections would return to the spotlight. I think that's the guy we put in the White House. Just my personal opinion, but I think he's running a criminal enterprise and had the audacity to envelop our political governance in its web. I think that's been the case from the day he came down the escalator in Trump Tower.

He might have surprised himself in winning the office, but he knows how to use that office, he's adopted to using it for what he wants, and he has absolutely no respect for that office.

So we've got various allegations of foreign policy misconduct involving Ukraine.

Putin has got to be loving this.

I was thinking that anyone who doesn't see anything wrong with that call readout must have never watched a mob movie.

No, this is an implication:
"I said, 'You're not getting the billion.' I'm going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: 'I'm leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you're not getting the money,'" - Joe Biden, 2018

You're referring to the prosecutor that was not investigating either of the Bidens.

I thought this as well. Comey felt like he was being talked to by a mafia leader during his pivotal dinner with Trump prior to being fired. So this monster phone call to shake down Ukraine was obviously right on brand with TRUMP.

Can you name something, specifically, that either Hunter or Joe Biden did that was wrong?

Nah. That seems to be a central talking point that keeps getting repeated by people with no understanding of the situation around the prosecutor's in Ukraine.

Biden definitely did himself a disservice by overselling himself with that remark though.

My question is... why? Why can’t they see this?

1. Are they really just so brainwashed by Fox News and their own bitterness that they’ve become nothing more than zombies to trump’s cult of personality? What would their breaking point be? Or is there any? Would they be fine if Trump began gassing Hispanics or Muslims? They seem fine withholding food, water, and medical care at camps along our southern border...

2. Are they just playing political games? Are they really just so immature that they think this is a damn game and don’t want to admit that their president is corrupt as hell? They’re too immature to recognize how unbelievably damaging this is to our country?

3. Something else?

Being a die hard Trump supporter is one step shy of being in a cult. Every inconvenient fact has to be twisted into something that conforms to the alternate world they live in.

If Trump actually did shoot someone on Fifth Avenue I have no doubt some people here would claim he deserved it, and Trump did us all a favor.

Oh my ***,

Your girlfriend doing work in some ****ing city. China is a ******** in terms of air pollution and poisoning of the water
It is bad due to their population. That doesn't mean they don't care and aren't doing anything. The air quality has been improving. Also the air is great in many places like where I am at.

I think the vast majority of what any average American has to say about China, unless they've lived there for an extended period, can be discounted. This also applies to most foreign countries.

Agreed, even people who have lived here but have not put effort into understanding this place and trying to learn don't really have a good option that I trust.

I have no difficulty whatsoever proving what I provide to my clients. He can't do that?

Have you checked? Asked? Even considered?

Is there a difference between your job and his?

Looked at his education? Experience?

Been given anything from him he provided to his employer, and been privy to why it's important?

You keep bringing this up and I'm 100% certain you are wrong. If you want Fox n Friends opinion, I'll counter with The Mueller report, which specifically said this sort of thing wasn't included in the scope of "anything of value" within the context of Subpart III.

I read 52 USC Subtitle III in its entirety. 301 is titled Federal Campaign Finance, and its scope of limitations is clearly financial unless you take "anything of value" to the most liberal interpretive sense imaginable. Nowhere else in the title do you find anything remotely referencing non-financial contributions, only through a skewed interpretation of that small insertion.

Furthermore, (according to the FEC fec.gov/updates/foreign-nationals/) foreign nationals are covered by the volunteer exception, which further solidifies the definition and its scope to be limited to financial contributions. Trump can recieve all the qualifying volunteer dirty favors he wants.

Some at the FEC want to agree with you and Fox n Friends, but they fully know
the law does not, which is why an external party submitted amendments to the Federal Register for vote:

https://www.npr.org/2019/08/01/7472...ther-constrain-foreign-election-contributions

That was in the wake of the last Impeach Trump drumbeat. However, there are freedom of speech implications that many aren't comfortable with so it'll probably get nowhere.

TL;DR addition - Trump was correct about what he said re:Iran in that out of context tweet you posted a few pages back. Read the short section from the full transcript.

Well, would you look at that.

This is a pretty ****** situation for Ukraine to be put in tbh- having to placate Trump, while not giving in to his ridiculous demands in a way that will make things difficult for them with a future administration.
