Best vertical jump program!

If you guys want to dunk there is this vertical jump program called the jump manual! It is legit! I have gained like 3 inches and i just barely started! This guys knows his stuff! He says air alert, plyo shoes, and a lot of other programs are scams! His works though! Go to jumpmanual.com to check it out! I will be dunking in no time baby!

I am interested in doing something like this though. I want to surprise all my friends at our next intramural game in the Sping with a jam.

In high school all I did were calf raises. Like 200-250 a day to build up the back of my legs. My vertical went up quite a bit and I could dunk. Key word, "could".

I better start with the calf raises so I can jump high enough to grab the net and pull myself up for a dunk.

You either have hops or you don't.

Thanks Doc Arch...

I call bull ****... although some people have more of the fast twitch fibers. You can train up any muscle category through exercise. Maybe you go from 12 inch vert to 18 inch rather than 40... but it's not something you can't change

Before I sprained my ankle (very badly) I could dunk if I was able to plant off two feet. My problem is that I'm not a strong jumper off one foot. Very Derrick Williams-esque.

I could never dunk off two feet. I was a one footer.

Lucky. I guess being a strong jumper off two feet is good for rebounding, but for layups and attacking the basket its terrible. I get such weak lift off one foot (mainly because my main jumping leg (left), is the one I sprained my ankle on).

Very true about rebounding. I haven't played basketball in a while. I have a bad shoulder that I had surgery on 2 years ago and I don't want to mess it up again. It's a pain in the ***. So I just take it easy and don't play anymore.

I'm 3 months out of ACL surgery and I'm putting it down off of two feet and one. The best thing I can do ( I don't know about you ) is give my legs a break. If I have shin splints, it takes a lot away from my hops. If I wait a few weeks without working out, running, jumping, etc - I can fly.

I was scared I wasn't going to be able to jump again after my surgery, but I'm finding out, it's not how strong your knees are - it's about form, ankle strength and fast twitch.

I had a difficult time dunking in high school until I started martial arts. Within 6 months I could dunk with relative ease.

A buddy of mine who could jump really high did a program and the guy who trained him said jumping comes from nothing but the back of your legs. Seemed to work for me.

I've never been able to dunk! That's more rare than dunking on this board and I play basketball/go to the gym every day

Shin splints are the worst. That is my main issues from running too much in HS, plus my left ankle from 3 sprains since Middle School because of Skateboarding and Bball.

The best thing I've found for shin splints, besides rest, is compression socks. Those things are money. I bought a pair on amazon.com for $20 - underarmor, and I don't get them nearly as bad during and after playing. You should try them. They're ugly, but they work.

What do you guys do to work out the back of your legs? And to improve quickness and fast twitch?

Squats are always the best leg workout, they workout pretty much every leg muscle. Working on flexibility would probably help promote quickness.
