The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

I thought there was no way he'd get elected too, but here we are.

I'm guessing it's fake news too. It was on a meme talking about how it was going to trigger the snowflakes.

The internet literally offers the world all the knowledge of mankind and yet, somehow, it's made people dumber.

Trump supporters, in a blood pact with the worlds biggest troll, “backed” by the most spineless R Congress ever, and believing the dumbest **** on the planet.

Color me ****ing surprised boys.

I just read something like if Trump is impeached by the House and not the Senate then it can nullify his first term and make him eligible for two more terms.

Please someone tell me this isn't true or nothing to worry about.
That isn't true.

Throw a man you don’t like to a pack of lunatics to #ownthelibs Trump just retweeted this:

Regardless of whether this Eric person is the whistleblower or not, Trump just put a target on this man’s back. Why? Because he doesn’t like the constitution.

Look at Trump’s ****ing wall right now. It looks like a bot’s Wall. He’s retweeting nonsense. And we sane and educated are supposed to just “take this” because it might hurt the feelings of the drooling idiots addicted to Fox News? Look at Trump’s wall right now. How can anyone sane and integrity NOT recognize that he’s a clear and present danger to our country?

below are some of his most recent tweets and retweets:

That isn't true.

and why would anyone think it’s true? It’s one of the silliest claims I’ve ever seen. LOL. It doesn’t make any sense. Why would an impeached but not removed president get extra terms? Theoretically, couldn’t that work to encourage a president to get extra terms by getting impeached but not removed? Why would we want to encourage bad or illegal behavior from the executive branch? Such silliness.

Huckabee is trying to spin this. There is absolutely nothing true about it.

Thriller had the best response to this: Why would an impeached but not removed president get extra terms? And, by the way, wouldn't we then owe Bill Clinton another term?

And, by the way, wouldn't we then owe Bill Clinton another term?

yep.

We don’t even have to go back far in history to see how silly that claim was. Just look at the fairly recent history of our own lifetimes and we’d know that presidents aren’t granted additional terms because impeachment didn’t result in removal. I was in elementary and middle school. But I would’ve remembered Clinton being granted a 3rd term instead of the Bush/Gore Florida recount. Most of us have lived through an impeachment already and should know how that presidents aren’t granted additional terms.

Well bill was impeached in his 2nd term and Donald was impeached in his 1st term so I'm sure the people spouting this nonsense would say that the situations are different and that the impeachment had to occur in the first term in order for you to be granted that 3rd additional term lololololololol

Huckabee is trying to spin this. There is absolutely nothing true about it.

He’s absolutely despicable.

I understand he feels like Trump’s legal controversies from day One have weighed down his presidency. But Trump has only himself to blame. And Huckabee’s own daughter contributed to this by lying to the american public and then admitting to Mueller that she lied. Upset that this president has had to spent years fighting against his own lies? Well... Maybe he and his associates shouldn’t have been criming... and then lying about their criming?

Republicans today have a way of only seeing things through one perspective; white grievance. They ignore the precedents being set by their own (mis)behavior. What happens when the next president (president warren or sanders perhaps) asks China to help them win re-election in 2024? And then tells Congress to, “go pound sand” when they try to enforce oversight?

What happens the next time Democrats are in charge of the senate with an open Supreme Court slot?

Will Republicans be fine if Democrats confirm a justice who vows vengeance against his political enemies during a hearing (“you sow the wind now reap the whirlwind”)?

The democracy game is based so much on traditions and forms that have been shredded in the last several years by Republicans focused solely on winning their own petty political battles of today.

Likewise, If Republicans want to award presidents with extras terms for what they deem to be unfair and frivolous conspiracies, they should begin by offering President Obama a do-over. A president who for four years fought wild accusations about his own birth certificate. A president who fought the Senate minority leader who vowed, “to make him a one-term president.” A president who saw his own Supreme Court nominee ignored for almost a year.

Yeah, man. I definitely didn't believe it, I just didn't know. I did a quick Google search and didn't really see anything credible (wasn't exactly sure how write it in the Google search too) so I decided to ask here because I know there's lots more people either way more up to date with this or knowledgeable. The thought of it being a possibility was a bit scary, but I also feel there's no way in hell Trump would win another election. He's lost way too many supporters in my experience. That, and our country NEEDS a different leader and face of the nation. We've become so divided.

Well he actually did.

“Very fine people on both sides”.

one side was the Nazis.

If he said there were very fine people kneeling for the anthem, trump cultists would’ve wet their diapers.

excuses and apologies.
There may have been Nazis on one side, but the entire side was definitely not made up of Nazis, so again I reiterate that he did not say what you claim. You are purposely selecting the most extreme interpretation possible. And I also think that your last statement is a completely incorrect assumption.

It's an idiotic statement. Anyone can see that. It's also very disingenuous to try to attribute it to Republicans or conservatives or Fox viewers or anyone else as a group. I doubt that any more than a tiny fringe (if that) is putting such an argument forward, yet you are trying to paint large swaths of the population as uneducated with it. Somehow that makes you feel good about yourself. Ridiculous.

Serious? Did you write this with a straight face?

That statement was made by Mike Huckabee. I’ll post it below. Huckabee is a former Republican Governor, Presidential candidate, and Fox News host. His tweet was retweeted over 43,000 times. He talked about trump getting extra terms on the #1 watched cable news show in the evening. trump has already “joked” multiple times about being given more than two terms. This way of thinking isn’t fringe. It’s as Republican mainstream as anything.

Does lying make you feel good about yourself? Ridiculous.

I hope Joe responds to this.
