So who's been sleeping with you? Obviously one team hasn't been living righteously. Someone on the offense maybe? Has Jake Heaps been jackpotting around and going Shawn Kemp in Provo?

Great win by Utah. I will admit that most of BYU's troubles were self-inflicted but what really impressed me was how Utah's running game came alive in the 2nd half. John White is an absolute freak. Almost anytime he breaks past the first line of defenders he's a threat to take it to the house.

I also think it may be time to question just how good Heaps is. This was the 16th game of his college career and while he obviously has talent, it's starting to look like he's not going to quite live up to the hype. Some will say it's still too early to declare him overrated, but with 16 games under his belt, he's already almost halfway done with his BYU career if he leaves as a junior and even if he stays all 4 years, he's still about 1/3 of the way finished. He will make an absolutely amazing throw (the early TD pass to Apo) and follow it up with overthrown passes on 3rd downs and ill-advised attempts to force it into coverage.

Overall, I feel really good about Utah going into their bye week as they prep for Washington. On offesne Wynn has gotten better each and every week (even though I don't think he'll ever be the strong point of the offense), Utah's Oline is getting better, the WR's are gamebreakers, and John White is an absolute difference maker. Maybe the best kept secret in the nation at this point IMO. On defense there's not much to say. From front to back they look amazing and should only get better.

The loss to USC still hurts but Ute fans have to be extremely excited as they head into their bye week.

Let me try this:

Did I do that right?

BYU would be wise to hit the JC ranks for skill players like White. They have had luck getting homerun threats from there in the past, but I don't think they have recruited any since Bronco was there. Just a cornerback here and there. It seems like your chances of getting a JC guy that is really good is much higher than getting a high school player that is really good. And it fills gaps for the whole mission program. Utah has done a nice job with JC players.

Other than the interception, I don't recall hearing Kyle Van Noy's or Jordan Pendleton's names mentioned at all on a play. Did Pendleton even play?

This win's on me. I dressed up like a beefy chick and got Heaps to float with me last weekend.

You're welcome.

Who needs linebackers when you can just send 3 space eaters 90% of the time and put no pressure on the quarterback? Our schemes are so bizarre on both sides of the ball for the talent that we have.

Bronco was upset with the boosters/media questioning the direction of the program after the Texas loss. I can only imagine that this week it will be amplified x100. Going to be very interesting to see how Bronco and his team respond from this. I realize it's only 1 loss, but it's the type of loss that can have a lingering effect on a season if you're not careful.

I don't know much about Central Florida but Utah State looms in 2 weeks. If you think John White owned BYU's rushing defense, just wait until Robert Turbin and Co. come to town. I don't think it would shock anybody at this point to see the Aggies leave Provo with a W. I'm too lazy to look it up, but I'm guessing Utah St. hasn't beaten BYU in consecutive meetings anytime during my life.
