RUMOR: Boozer to Miami?

I'll take Beasley as his talent outweights his cons; if he flakes out, let him leave as a FA. At least you get something for Boozer as well as scare the crap out of the rest of the east by giving three potential max contracts to Miami.

I assume you are talking about Jermaine O'Neal in this deal. Jermaine has little in the tank left, but he'd be a decent player coming off the bench and clocking some minutes.

Would I do it - yes. Unless O'Neal was getting anything more than 2 years maximum. I'm pretty sure his knees are being held together by spit and Scotch Tape.

Do I believe it will happen - no.

Ok, O'neal wasnt as bad as I thought last year.

As far as O'neal wanting to come to Utah, although as a destination it is the bottom of the NBA barrel to most players, I think the idea that no player is willing to come here is dramatically overplayed. Players that have been around a while, and are more settled down (read: older players) are likely more interested in the job itself than what Utah has to offer them in terms of lifestyle. It's a thought...

I want nothing to do with this. If we're going to get anyone back from them, Pittman should be the first choice. Legit length, size, athleticism and a cheap price tag. Pittman and future picks?

....the Jazz are not paying a worn out, pathetic Jermaine O'Neal 7 mill a year! Throw that idea out of your mind!
It's better to pay a healthy JOL 7 million per year (70 starts last season) than even a healthy MO 10 million per year (73 starts plus a 6-month injury in the playoffs)..

In response to the idea that O'neal would refuse to play in Utah:

Yeah, he's coming from Miami now. But before that he played in Toronto and Indiana. I'm not judging the actual merits of those cities (I hear Toronto is great) but they're not regarded as top destinations for players, and on the level of SLC.

As far as this sign and trade - it sure seems complicated with all those FAs. I'm not sure about Beasley, but it's better than nothing.

I prefer the Houston trade of Scola and Battier plus their PG.

While Indiana is comparable to SLC, Toronto is NOT. In fact, I'd much rather live in Toronto than Miami.
