Following Potential 2020 draftees

Just go ahead and book it right now... you don't even need to watch.

I'm not a Nnaji buff, but his knock on the Ringer is that he is bad guarding in space and can't rim protect.

Maybe there is potential there, but the report that he added 20 lbs during the extended off-season tells me the perimeter defense probably won't improve too much.

I would have to see some defensive reel of him switching in space or guarding wing types.

I'll honestly be surprised if Robert Woodard gets picked in the 1st round. Maybe he'd go #30 to Boston.

The Tobias Harris-Robert Woodard comparison is one worth discussing. Woodard is shorter but also definitely more explosive..

To me though Woodard is a guy with that sort of possible offensive upside/skillset, too often when im seeing him discussed here it's as a defender, multi-positional, all that other stuff like thats the primary selling point, but to me the primary selling point is that he's a solid offensive player...

Now he's not a great FT shooter, and he shot the ball like **** freshman year from 3, but this year lights out. I like the way his shot looks, he doesnt look like he's getting lucky out there when it goes in.. This is the gamble...

If the Jazz select him in the first rd, surely its because they think he can shoot the 3..

I can easily forsee a situation where people are saying "wow i didnt expect his offense would be this far along" and theyll use the word ROOKIE a ton and beat it to death, but surely if he knocks down his 3's, thats how it's gonna look

ya know too when I look at Robert Woodards game logs this season, something really just stands out to me bigtime... Look at all those damn offensive rebounds...

This kid has some big fish in a small pond potential... thats why u cant write him off in the first rd imo.

that oreb stat is all u need to know IMO... this kid was playing out of position really... he;s a big body so they had him banging out there.. He is skilled enough to hold his own on the perimeter.

Just doing a little research myself.

The only players to ever average at least 18.5 PPG, 5.7 RPG and 4 APG as a college freshman:

Ben Simmons - #1 pick
Markelle Fultz - #1 pick
RJ Barrett - #3 pick
Cole Anthony - ?

I really do not understand how this guy is not a projected lottery pick at the minimum.

hmm

"To be honest," he says, "I can't watch basketball."

He retells the story about the first time he dunked and how it signaled to him that he was talented and could accomplish something he might not have been able to in football, which was his first love. So that's the direction he went, simple as that, hanging up his cleats. "That's all I needed to see," he says.

So when after that did he get into basketball?

"I'm still not really into it," he says. "I love basketball, yeah. It's what I do."

He's not entirely convincing. He says if he were drafted by the NFL tomorrow, he'd let basketball go. "Because you can do anything on the field," he explains. "You can spike the ball. You can dance. You can do all type of disrespectful stuff." In the NBA, he says, "you can't do any of that. You'll get fined."

He goes on to say that he's an aspiring rapper. He's already recorded a few tracks with his older brother Bubba. So, like Damian Lillard? "But I really can rap," he says. "Dame, talking about -- I don't know what he's talking about. I'm rapping like Lil Baby." He says he won't release any songs until he's established in the NBA.

I'd be excited if he was the pick. His value seems all over the place...I think there's a 50/50 chance he falls to us. He might be a bench heat check guy like Clarkson. Might allow us to let Clarkson go, or trade him next season and use resources elsewhere.

How do you feel about the Marvin Williams comparison? I've seen a few draft guides use Marvin as a comp for Woodard.

I think Marvin Williams is too tall to compare to him tbh.. Marvin was skinny too and Woodard is just not built like that.

To me the closest player in stature the jazz have had recently to Woodard is easily Joe Johnson.

ya know i dont wanna kill Nnaji too much but if u want Zeke Nnaji i feel like it should be because you think he can shoot it from 3 lights out.. and nothing less, like some sort of poor mans bosh.

Can someone please explain why Quickley is consistently mocked in the 2nd round? Especially in a draft where there's a bunch of guards/players in general in the same tier? I don't think I've seen a mock with him in the 1st. Is his lack of size for an off ball player that bad? Is his ability to create separation and passing/playmaking that bad?

Ive said it before and ill say it again, Anthony Edwards vs Donovan Mitchell is gonna be a showdown!! ima be tuned in for sure. We'll see what happens we all know Mitchell is a monster, but thats what their gonna draft this kid #1 to do, to take those matchups.

I dont care if Nnaji cant play the 4. The Jazz's are in a dire situation when it comes to the backup 5. If they think Nnaji is that dude, then I'm ok taking him. He does a lot of things I like.

I'd prefer a Bey/Woodard, but a rookie 5 probably has an easier path to minutes on this team that anyone else.
Nnaji is my first choice , but I think the pick will be Bey and will be more than happy with it.
