Donald Trump’s “Stop the Steal” campaign recalls one of the most disastrous political lies of the 20th century.
I’ve read a couple of reports suggesting, based on anonymous administration officials, of course, that Trump advanced the election fraud claims as, in part at least, a sort of payback for years of accusations involving collusion with Russia in the 2016 election.
I can understand revenge where Trump is concerned. Easily. (But, might as well point out that in calling on the Russians to find and release Hillary emails, which they then did the same day, and in Trump Jr. being willing to meet with and listen to alleged “dirt” on Hillary, their campaign did engage in collusion. Just no proof of active conspiracy between Russia and Trump).
But, in this interpretation, it is, in part, payback for those who considered his own election to be tainted.
However, with Trump, look to the ego for real understanding. Recall, even in winning in 2016, he was unable to live with losing the popular vote. He had to, and he did, claim that Hillary could only have won the popular vote because 3 million illegal aliens voted for Hillary. He could not allow himself to be seen as a loser of the popular vote.
This latest claim of fraud in 2020 is also because he cannot allow himself to be seen as a loser. That has to be one major reason behind his claims, and, as we’ve seen, the most fruitcake conspiracy theories are advanced, in a truly desperate attempt to steal the election, and avoid being a loser. Literally. He’ll always be a winner in his alternative reality.
That said, I believe another goal is to convince his followers that he did win the 2020 election, and, by so doing, help cripple a Biden administration from the get go. This is putting self above country. And that too is to be expected from Trump. He will always put himself before his nation. And this has indeed worked with his followers, and Republicans in general. Which is damaging to our democracy. So many times he accused others of being the “enemies of the people”. But it is Trump who was America’s biggest enemy, and he still is...
But he’s retweeting the best, lol....It's hilarious how he went into a month of isolation during his meltdown, talk about a weak-***-bitch. Waking up every morning to see the news reports of his loss had him shattered.
I don't know that any kids skating on my rink (or my dad's before me) have ever gone pro, but we have had several pro hockey players (both active and retired) skate on our ice. This is not a hotbed for hockey talent but we sure do have a lot of fun!Well, good on you. I live in one of the schoolboy hockey hotbeds in the United States. Many of our local kids have gone on to careers in the NHL. Mt. St. Charles Academy in Woonsocket, RI, is where most of our schoolboy hockey prodigies end up. And from there, college programs like Providence College, national champs a few years back, and then drafted by NHL teams. Lots of pro sports teams up the road in Boston, obviously, but hockey will always rule here in RI. So, as we’re fond of saying in RI: keep your stick on the ice!
Wait...I thought Babe said Biden only picked up votes in a few urban areas in a few ("contested") states.Figuring out why Trump lost is actually pretty simple: it's just elementary math.
Look at the certified/almost certified results of most states and you'll see a constant: Trump lost 1 - 5 % points against his 2016 victory in the vast majority of states. Below shows how much ground Trump lost (or gained) in 2020 in every state. Red is bad, green is good, blue means no statistical change.
Where did Trump actually perform better than in 2016? Blue states in most cases. Of the seven states where Trump performed better than in 2016, only one was a swing state (Florida). Winning Arkansas was never in doubt for him as was Utah (McMullin not being on the ballot righted these numbers to more historical norms). He was never going to win the other deep blue states where he made some net gains.
Trump eroded support in 41 states total from 2016. Doesn't matter in a place like West Virginia, but sure matters in a state like Georgia. So when we talk about wanting to challenge election results, Trump is basically saying that fake votes are prevalent in nearly every state of the union and conspiring against him despite all being independent electors with representation across partisan lines.
Knowing above, should you really be surprised that Trump lost states like MI, WI, PA that he won by

When you dive into district-level numbers, Trump actually did incrementally better with Hispanics. This can especially be seen along the Texas-Mexico border as well as places like East LA (and was very effective with getting the Cuban vote and limiting Hispanic turnout in places like Miami/Dade). He also performed a tick better amongst Blacks as black males tended to be better for him while black women stayed away.Wait...I thought Babe said Biden only picked up votes in a few urban areas in a few ("contested") states.
Your numbers must be wrong...
Lol. It wouldnt cost anymore. They would just change the votes for senate from republican to Democrat at the exact same time and on the same ballot that they changed from trump to Biden.
And if the fraud wasn't all that good then it would be proven in court rather than the exact opposite.
You are really reaching on this stuff. Your brainwashing is working well. Your overlords are pleased.

I agree. All you’re doing is making a complete fool out of yourself.
Nope your speculations are the stretch.Don't be so confused. I'm not you.
Your speculations are the stretch.
Pretty damn certain that if there is a company with a computer for getting election results, it's done on a paying basis. If you don't pay for it up front, you get nothing.
Not talking about ideological Marxists or Patriots here, nobody in that kind of business "believes" anything.
And believe me, if they can do this, and are in position to keep doing it, they'll change votes from Democrat to Republican for about the same price.

Sidney Powell Lawsuit Cites Election Fraud in County That Doesn't Exist
Can a candidate receive more than 100% of the vote, recorded in a locale that isn't real?www.snopes.com
I don't think Sidney Powell is a good lawyer. A good lawyer for her clients, yes, she'll tell you the sky is raining blood and that you're naked even if you're dressed in clothes, but that doesn't make her a competent trial attorney when you push your chips all in.
Asking Trump to declare martial law and for military tribunals who, I'll remind you, is reserved for enemy armies, is the stuff of lunacy.
And let's be honest, the joint chiefs would never go along with it. Hell, I'm not even sure what they'd be enforcing. Not like there's millions of people taking to the streets right now murdering Republicans/Democrats or burning down entire cities. They'd probably be standing around asking you if you've seen any good deals on Nintendo Switches or out on your lawn and having snowball fights with kids. Not having the required evidence to prove her clients claims in court so going to plan B of telling her client to declare martial law and use the United States military against the United States is some damn good lawyering.

Just one example of the kind of crackpot witnesses Trump’s attorneys are relying on.
